Q3)A gun battle took place in London, on 3rd January, 1911. The battle was considered a scandal: because of the involvement of the then Home Secretary. Which Home Secretary: Herbert Gladstone, Winston Churchill or Reginald McKenna?
† Enjoy them, Debbi! (The bluray of the first series is listed on the US branch of Amazon: from ~$31 to ~$62. There’s a region free version listed for $52.82. I don’t know if that’s any encouragement, though.)
‡ Hmmm … send me a snap if you end up in a turban, Olga: I can do something with that!
Thanks, Paul. No turban today. I wore a flat hat with a feather... I didn't take any pictures but I might appear in some of the general ones, although the posts will probably not be live until Tuesday next week at the earliest, as here Monday the 6th is a Bank Holiday, and there will be plenty of posts from over the holidays to catch up on. Tomorrow we're going for lunch with my cousin and his little girl and then participating in the parade to celebrate Epiphany, but I'll see if I have enough time to join the teaser in the morning. Otherwise, I should be back on Monday...
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.

Wow! That last lorry. Wow! :)
ReplyDeleteBTW, just saw the original Ladykillers with Alec Guinness and Peter Sellers (who I barely recognized!).
Hilarious! Americans seem to have almost no sense of irony or whistling past the graveyard humour. :) What's wrong with me? lol
