† Yes, I remember hearing about that, Olga: from what I recall, the avatars were aimed at people with auditory hallucinations, and gave them a chance to deal with them by interacting with them. There’s a couple of abstracts, here and here.
You’re right, though: helping yourself heal seems to have appeal.
At any rate? What mildly surprises me? Is that no one’s built a horror story on the idea§. Digital dead, coming back to haunt people, must be up some writer’s street! Feel free to pinch the idea!

Q6) The Silmarillion Yes, I think that's what I had read. I have a book due for review about an App coming to life (I think). I'll let you know how it is when I get to it. I keep reading about Neil Gaiman these days, although it hasn't been featured on the news here.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
