Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 19-2-2025 — EastEnders

19th February, 2025: EastEnders.

Right … it’s now, officially, Wednesday … !

Which means … ?

Well, it means that — if you]re a fan of TV show, EastEnders — you’re probably going to be marking the show’s anniversary, by watching tonight’s episode.

Not something I’m going to be doing: I’m not one for the soaps.

But … ?

I can remember that first episode.

And the stinks the show’s caused, over the years.

With story lines going from divorce, to affairs, to faked cancer scare, to utility fraud, to domestic abuse, to lord knows what else … !

The show — in the phrase the actors use to describe an episode’s cliff hangers — has the doof doof* … !

~≈🥁≈~

At any rate, with all that said … ?

My nephew, Jude, was over last night: concerned that he couldn’t stream from his Playstation, to YouTube.

I think we have the problem solved: but won’t know for until he let’s me know.

At any rate … ?

Here’s his latest video …

Have fun with that!

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga†, Mum‡, and Debbi§ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Here’s a thought …
“EastEnders was created by Julia Smith and Tony Holland as a soap opera to rival Coronation Street and draw big audiences to BBC One.”
From BBC.com’s page about the episode.
A tune …

And the opening scene …

The next ten question set is on 1st March: it’s about Ohio.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        I can’t help but think Dr Who’s equivalent to that drum roll?   Is this …

My pleasure, Olga, any time.   (I didn’t know you were an ABBA fan!)

        Hello, Mum … !

§        Democracy Isn’t Working?   Ron Says Bugrit?   Those were the last two slogan t-shirts I got, Debbi!

  2. I don't know many people who don't like Abba (even if they don't admit to it), but, always fun to listen to them, and it brings back memories.

I remember they showed Eastenders here, in TV3 the Catalan TV, dubbed into Catalan, and it was quite popular (they haven't for years), but I remember I was quite shocked when I moved to the UK and heard the real voices of the characters. I remember Kathy Fowler hat quite a nice voice in Catalan, but she has a really croaky voice. Some dubbing actors sound exactly like the characters (the actor who dubbed James Stewart, for example, sounds identical), but some evidently not, and in some cases most people never get to know what the original sounds like.

  3. I had a Nirvana T-shirt with all sorts of things written on the back. But I can't find it now. Shame.

I'm not into soaps, either, but this show sounds ...a bit off-the-hook. A bit controversial. Somewhat political, maybe? :)

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
