Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga†, Irene‡ and Debbi§ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum and Irene on four.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
† I’ve had that happen, myself, Olga: back when I was working at KFC … ! I turned up for at least one shift on the wrong day: and ended up smelling of fried chicken on a day I didn’t need to … !
And cheers: it’s nice to see I’d lost a nice amount …
‡ Morning, Irene: how is the day … ? I do movie reviews, if you and Jim are interested: feel free to look them up. You can see the video versions, here …
§ It’s friendly, sometimes, Debbi! Except when a drunken customer’s using it … !
Oh, did you hear Val Kilmer’s died? I might just have to did up a copy of The Doors.
Q5) 1725 Yes. I don't think I turned up to work on the wrong day, but I remember I had started working at a different hospital (when I was training we moved jobs every six months, sometimes in the same hospital, but sometimes to a different place altogether), and I drove automatically to the hospital where I used to work instead of to the new place. It wasn't a problem, as I left in plenty of time, but it just goes to prove how many things we do without thinking, even complex things. Val Kilmer... He was the protagonist of Spartan, one of David Mamet's movies, but that one came out after I had already finished my thesis, so I never got to write about it. It is not his best movie (well, Mamet's either) but it is interesting.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
