Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 21st May, 2025.

21st May, 2025.

Right … it’s now Tuesday …

Sorry, it’s now Wednesday!

You can tell I haven’t woken up, yet, can’t you … ?

At any rate, something I meant to mention, yesterday, was simply this.

That — going by my weight management meeting on Monday — my weight hasn’t gone down.

But also hasn’t gone up.

So … ?

That’s a result.

You’re possibly aware that both the Co-op, and Marks and Spencers, have been hit by ransomware attack.

And, whilst the Co-op seems to have got off lightly, M&S are still having issues.

Apparently?

They estimate their services won’t be fully online until July.

On the upside for both companies?

Police say they’re investigating some English speaking suspects.

Hopefully … ?

The police can get the suspects, quickly!

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s five question set, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        Serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer, was born on 21st May.   Of which year of the 1960s?

Q2)        Dahmer was convicted of how many counts of first degree murder: fourteen, fifteen or sixteen?

Q3)        21st May is International Tea Day.   Tea contain’s what: alcohol, caffeine or cannabis?

Q4)        21st May is also World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development.   According to whom: the WHO, IMF or UNESCO?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Henry Cooper was beaten in a heavyweight match: with the then Cassius Clay.   The bout was held on 21st May, 1966: at which team’s football ground?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        20th May is the feast day of Saint Lucifer of Cagliari.   Where is Cagliari: Sardinia, Corsica or Crete?
A1)        Sardinia.

Q2)        Technically, Lucifer was Cagliari’s what: priest, vicar or bishop?
A2)        Bishop.

Here’s a thought …
“Being happy in general makes life so much easier.”
Diver, Tom Daley, born 21 May 1994.
And a song …

The next ten question set will be on 28th May: it’s about the first Old Firm derby!

Comments and answers will be published tomorrow morning.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        If it’s any help, Olga§, I’ve got the phone number for T-shirts Anonymous …
On a more serious note … ?   One of these days, I’ll have to design an “Old Peculiar” t-shirt for you and Debbi.   That’s if I can afford the shipping fees.
(I’ll keep my fingers crossed on the birds front!)

        Hello, Mum!

‡        I’m saying nothing, Debbi¶.   Bar “He’s copying an Israeli idea, and wants his own version of Reagan’s SDI system”.   Reagan had more dignity!   (The current president’s planned Golden Dome is supposed to be in place by the end of his term.   Do you remember him saying he could end the Ukraine war “within 24 hours”?)
I’ll have to think about more t-shirts, Debbi …

§        Just in case Debbi and Olga get urges …

  1. Q1) 1960

Q2) sixteen (Initially fifteen, but later he was also convicted for a sixteenth murder he committed elsewhere, so I hope this is correct).

    Q3) caffeine

    Q4) UNESCO

    Q5) Arsenal
It's a nice idea, but don't worry. Sending things was easier before Brexit, but... Mind you, new commercial agreements and all that.
Oh, I've shared a couple of videos. It seems the birds are back, although I'm not sure if they are the same one or one of the babies with the partner. It was quite funny, because one was nesting and the other one came with a Huge stick (twice as big as the bird and much bigger that the nest), and I was telling him (or her, not sure) that it had gone over board, and while it was trying to manoeuvre it, the stick fell to the ground. No surprises there! An ambitious bird! It was probably thinking of building an extension...

  3. FWIW, many of the president's decisions have been successfully challenged in court. Too bad he didn't get thrown into prison for his crimes!

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
