Q5)Finally … ? Tubular Bells was the first LP to be released on Virgin Records. Who founded Virgin: Ahmet Ertegun, Richard Branson or Chris Blackwell?
A5)RichardBranson. (I know he has a reputation for being a fluffy, tree-hugging, bunny. But suspect that, in the boardroom, he makes Elon Musk, Steve Jobs and Jeff Bezos look pleasant … )
Here’s a thought …
“Really! This might be Roumania!”
Queen Mary of Teck, 26 May 1867 – 24 March 1953.
And music composed by William Bolcom …
The next ten question set is on Wednesday: it’s about the first Old Firm derby!
Comments and answers will be published tomorrow morning.
† It could’ve been the busy weekend, Olga: that might have scared them off.
‡ Gary Oldman … ? Oh, yeah: he played Sid in Sid and Nancy, didn’t he? I keep meaning to watch that … ?
At any rate? I get the impression Branson won’t be complaining about the Pistols, Debbi. From the little I know, Tubular Bells and Never Mind the Bollocks were Virgin’s biggest selling albums.
§ Morning, Irene: how is the day … ? (Oh, you put Parkside, yesterday: the correct answer was Parklife.)
I’d forgotten the Bank Holiday. No Bank holiday here. I had a class with Jordi, and he’ll be on a holiday in Menorca for the next two weeks, so we won’t have another class until the 16th of June now. Yes, I wonder if the birds were away for the weekend, because one of them has turned up this morning and has been coming and going while I was at home, although it isn’t there now. We shall see...
Love today's music Paul. I shall have to listen to my Kenny G CD. My answers to today's quiz as follows: 1. Depeche Mode 2. Italy 3.Milan 4. George Floyd 5. Masonic Lodge
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
