†Hopefully, Olga, you’ll have a chance to put your feet up, come Saturday! And try not to lose your mother!
I’ll tell you the other thing that helps my feet, Olga: a nice warm shower. Warm water from that seems to be more useful than a warm bath. Why, I don’t know.
‡ Yes, she would, wouldn’t she, Debbi? The phrase goes back to the Profumo trial, back in the 1960s. The prosecution said to Mandy Rice-Davies, one of the defendants, that a famous lord denied having an affair with her. She replied “Well, he would, wouldn’t he?”. Several decades later, we have ‘MRDA’, ‘Mandy Rice-Davies applies’. Feel free to swipe that!
There’s a new version of the Routemaster doping the rounds: a hybrid, diesel/electric version. I believe they’re Seen as safer than the bendy buses.
Q5) Mount Whitney I hope the workshop goes well today. As for Saturday, we'll see. The event I'm covering in the afternoon is a celebration of an organisation that coordinates several cooperatives in the district, and the main thing is a "political act", so... Well, I hope I get to speak to somebody pleasant, because my experience with some of the people who work and organise cooperatives is that they seem to think everybody else does things in the wrong way and have no education (political, I mean). Perhaps they see the world as "us and them", and probably for very good reasons.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
