You’re also very aware that I’m off to my weight management meeting.
And desperately hoping I’ve lost some.
Weight, that is!
Either way?
I’ll know, later.
~≈⚖️≈~
As an extra thought … ?
I’ve got the Today programme on: who’ve reported that Eli Lilly — the makers of the injectable weight loss drug, Mounjaro — has designed a weight loss pill.
And hoping it will be introduced into the UK, in 2026.
Whether it’s going to be helpful to someone like me — I’ve been using Mounjaro for some time — is a whole other matter.
But … ?
I get the impression from the Today programme that this pill would be aimed at those of us looking to lose weight, looking to supplement lifestyle changes.
Those of us who want to lose weight: not just those of us who need to lose weight.
We’ll have to see, won’t we?

Let’s move on.
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*, Mum† and Debbi‡ putting in their answers: with Olga and Mum scoring five out of five, and Debbi on four.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q1)The first episode of Star Trek aired on 8th September. Of which year of the 1960s?
Q2)8th September, 1946, saw Bulgaria hold a referendum. To abolish what: forced marriages, parliament or the Bulgarian monarchy?
Q3)8th September, 1974, saw President Gerald Ford issue a Presidential pardon. A presidential pardon that pardoned which former President?
Q4)Actor, Martin Freeman, was born on 8th September, 1971. Who did he play in the movie version of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy: Arthur Dent, Zaphod Beeblebrox or Tricia ‘Trillian’ MacMillan?
Q5)Finally … ? Alecia Moore-Hart was born on 8th September, 1979. She’s better known as which US singer: Patti Smith, Pink or Beyoncé?
Q5) Pink I hope the weight loss group went well. We'll have to wait and see what the medication ends up being and for whom, although it would make it even easier for people who might object to needles... Yes, it was quite weird, and I only found out about the lady's injury because I came across her and the people helping her as we were close to the end of the walk, otherwise I wouldn't have known. There are so many people in the walks that unless you happen to be there or walk by when something happens, you won't know. It's the third time that happens to me. One of the times I was walking behind an elderly man who fell down, and another time I came across a person who had had some kind of fit, although he was walking with others and the ambulance arrived at the same time I did. We were only about five minutes from the end of the walk on that occasion, and when I mentioned it to one of the organizers he told me nobody had told them anything. And he reminded me that the best thing to do was to phone the number in the card, as they could access directly the ambulance that was attached to the walk, which could get there sooner.
1. 1966 (I knew that!) 2. the Bulgarian monarchy 3. Nixon 4. Arthur Dent (Knew that, too.) 5. Pink
BTW, I just wrote a weird short story in which Death became a character. And then, it occurred to me that I'd never done that before, but I think I was inspired by Terry Pratchett. So, I had the character talk in small caps. :)
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.

"Haven't they killed you yet?"
ReplyDeleteShe turns. Wrong woman.
"Sorry. Must be thinking of someone else."
I just couldn't resist. :)
