* Hello, Mum! (It was seconds and Kelvin (°K), Mum, rather than metres and Fahrenheit.)
† Yeah, that does sound like one hell of a trip, Olga: especially at a time like that … ! But, yes, couples dying within a short time of each other seems common. An old friend’s mother died of cancer, not long after her father died of a heart attack. And something similar happened with a friend of my sister’s. It always left me thinking a psychological factor was a factor: and that the phrase ‘grief stricken’ is more powerful than it looks …
The tip trip was fine: it always amazes me how quickly the containers fill up … ! (Especially the container for waste TVs: I can only hope there’s enough recyclable metals in the things make it worth while.)
‡ I hope that don’t Debbi! I’d hate to lose you!
I think you mentioned the technology course: but weren’t too specific … ! I’m mildly impressed, as well: and will have to play more OMD at you¶. Or these guys … … … …
¶ Apparently, Debbi, the main guidance computer — the one in Houston, rather the one on the rockets — had sixteen bits of memory. Sixteen bits: about two bytes! My phone’s got two thousand times more … !
Q5) Judaism Yes, I also wonder. There was a feature about second hand clothes and the incredible amount of waste produced by clothing, because most people buy cheap stuff and get rid of it quickly, but it being of so bad quality, it cannot be sold later and sending it abroad doesn't make sense either (as they are inundated with it in Africa and most places). Some can be recycled, but a lot of it not.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
