Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 7-11-2025 — International Inuit Day.

7th November, 2025: International Inuit Day.

Hmmm …

Have you watched today’s intro video … ?

The one at the opening of this post?

I know it’s not much: but I’m mildly impressed with my work, there.

Mind you … I could just be impressed by the spookiness of the backing track …

~≈💣≈~

Something I do know?

Is that one trillion dollars — $1, 000, 000, 000, 000 — is about £763, 000, 000, 000 in Sterling.

A lot of money, in other words.

Enough — if the little I’ve understood about economics is correct — to knacker the economy, if it was spent in one go.

Assuming he meets the relevant targets, and according to the renumeration plan approved at a Tesla share holder meeting, yesterday, it’s also the amount of shares Elon Musk will get over the next few years.

Assuming he meets the targets.

I know that’s shares: and the amount of money he gets, cashing them in, can down as well as up.

But … ?

One trillion dollars is a bit much money for one country: let alone one person!

As a thought … ?

I’ve heard from the family of Old Peculiar reader, Trevor.

He’s alive and well.

Or wellish.

He’s been transferred from hospital to a nursing home in town.

Here’s hopping it helps his health.

~≈😷≈~

As a last thought … ?

It’s International Inuit Day.

So?

Bobby the Cat’s dressing up, to mark the occasion …

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Debbi† and Irene‡ putting in their answers: with everyone scoring five out of five.

The day also saw Olga§ leaving us a message.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        7th November is International Inuit Day.   It was established when: 2004, 2006 or 2008?

Q2)        It’s also known as the International what Inuit Day: circumpolar, circumstantial or circumference?

Q3)        The Inuit, themselves, live in parts of North America.   Including which US state: Alaska, California or Hawaii?

Q4)        Many Inuit live in the Chukotsky district.   Where is that district: Russia, Greenland or Iceland?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Many female Inuit will be wearing Kakiniit.   What are kakiniit: tattoos, earrings or false nails?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        6th November is the feast day of Saint Demetrian.   Demetrian was from which Mediterranean island: Sicily, Corsica or Cyprus?
A1)        Cyprus.

Q2)        Actor, Tony Todd, died on 6th November, 2024.   He played the titular villain in which horror franchise: The Crow, Hellraiser or Candyman?
A2)        Candyman.   You can’t imagine a better bit of casting.   (Barker’s original take on the character was fairly non-descriptive: it was Todd who put in the work.)

Q3)        Racketeer, Arnold Rothstein, died on 6th November, 1928.   What was his nickname: Pinky, the Brain or Mumbles?
A3)        The Brain.

Q4)        Edmund Mortimer was born on 6th November, 1391.   He was the 5th Earl of March, and 7th Earl of where: Ulster, Dublin orWexford?
A4)        7th Earl of Ulster.

Q5)        Finally … ?   6th November, 1908, saw the birth of Tony Canzoneri. He was a heavyweight what: wrestler, boxer or karate-ka?
A5)        Boxer.
Here’s an observation …
“Inuit are the descendants of what anthropologists call the Thule people, who emerged from the Bering Strait and western Alaska around 1000 CE.”
From the Wikipedia entry on the Inuit.
And what YouTube tells me is traditional Inuit music …

The next ten question set is on 10th November: and is about actor, Richard Burton.

Your comments will be published, tomorrow morning.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

AI is avoided, when writing these questions.

Answers are as accurate as possible: at the time of writing.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!

That doesn’t surprise me, Debbi: from what I’ve understood, films change in the course of production, and in the editing room.   What ends up on screen, isn’t necessarily on the page.
I don’t know if you’ve read/seen Watchman: but I felt the ending of the film version was as good as monetarily possibly: I think the comic’s ending would’ve been way too expensive.   Saying that?   I don’t think the film’s version of Rorschach¶ worked for me: for all that Jackie Earle Haley gave a good performance.

Morning, Irene: how IS the day … ?

§        I know exactly what you mean, Olga!   Did you ever hear the term tempo rubato?   It’s a musical term that refers to a piece of music that speeds up and slows down.   Apparently, it translates from Italian as ‘stolen time’: but I think ‘rubber time’ would be better.   But it always seems apt, when we’re talking about how time seems to change speed …

Apparently, Debbi, the character supposed to be left handed.   My copy of the Watchmen novel’s gone astray, so I can’t check!

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
