Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 8th November 2025.

8th November, 2025.

Right … I think we can say I’m working on a movie review: having watched the Ralph Bakshi directed Wizards, last night.

It’s worth watching, I think: but definitely odd.

~≈🎞️≈~

I got emails, yesterday.

Including the inevitable junk.

Including one from MacWorld, telling me about discounts available — in the US! — on the desktop version of Microsoft Office.

Nope: I’m not getting it.

There’s better things to be spending my money on.

Can I make a suggestion?

I’ve always felt that most of us only need MS Office for one or two things: opening and reading Word or Excel files.

So … ?

If you’re looking at buying or subscribing to, the suite, just to open a few Word files?

You’re probably better off exploring the free options, before you waste your money.

~≈🆓≈~

I keep half an eye on the Tharries YouTube channel: as the youngster usually picks up on interesting Dr Who leaks.

And, in a recent video?

Tells us that Paramount — the producers of Star Trek — are interested in taking over as international partners from Disney.

Which could be good news.

Although, apparently?

Paramount wants the back catalogue exclusively on their UK streaming service, rather than the iPlayer.

I don’t know how true that is.

But I’d prefer to see to watch the show for free: rather than have to pay for it.

It’s made in Britain, after all.

~≈🇬🇧≈~

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum*, Olga†, Debbi‡ and Irene§ putting in their answers: with Olga and Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum and Irene on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        8th November is National Aboriginal Veterans Day.   Where: Australia, Canada or New Zealand?

Q2)        8th November is World Urbanism Day.   The day is also called World Town what Day?

Q3)        8th November is the Feast Day of the Blessed John Duns Scotus. He’s a patron of whom: philosophers, physicists or phylacteries?

Q4)        Round C1 of Operation Grapple X took place on 8th November, 1957.   It was the first British test of a what: computer virus, hydrogen bomb or electric car … ?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Robert Catesby was killed on 8th November, 1605.   He’d been leader of what: the Babington Plan, the Gunpowder Plot or the Warbeck Plot?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        7th November is International Inuit Day.   It was established when: 2004, 2006 or 2008?
A1)        2006.

Q2)        It’s also known as the International what Inuit Day: circumpolar, circumstantial or circumference?
A2)        Circumpolar: as it was established by the Inuit Circumpolar Council.

Q3)        The Inuit, themselves, live in parts of North America.   Including which US state: Alaska, California or Hawaii?
A3)        Alaska.

Q4)        Many Inuit live in the Chukotsky district.   Where is that district: Russia, Greenland or Iceland?
A4)        Russia.   (The district is the part of Russia, nearest the USA: and the nearest to Alaska.)

Q5)        Finally … ?   Many female Inuit will be wearing Kakiniit.   What are kakiniit: tattoos, earrings or false nails?
A5)        Tattoos.
Here’s a thought …
“There’s a subtle difference between those who say funny things and those who say things funny.”
Ken Dodd, 8 November 1927 - 11 March 2018.
And a song …

The next ten question set is on 10th November: and is about actor, Richard Burton.

Your comments will be published, tomorrow morning.

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

AI is avoided, when writing these questions.

Answers are as accurate as possible: at the time of writing.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!   (It was Russia, Mum, not Greenland.)

†        I think you’re right, there, Olga!   I think Einstein had a lot to say about time … and rubber sheets … !
Good luck with getting the weekend organised!
(I think the last thing the President needs is help.   He’s making a dog’s dinner of the States all on his own!   Apparently?   The US Supreme Court has agreed to his halting food stamps: I can’t help but think that’s going to backfire at the polls.)

I remember you mentioning that, Debbi!   I take it the eventually film has been released?
Film as life, eh?   My mind is feeding me a paraphrase from the David Lynch version of Dune: he who controls the camera, controls the universe!

§        I think Autocorrect kicked in, there, Irene: at least, you put Alaistair, rather than Alaska, yesterday!
At any rate … did I mention Bobby dressed up for Halloween … ?

    Yes- bloody spell check !!!
Must say - although Bobby's make up and disguise very good, its not my favourite.
I still think you should make birthday/Christmas/Amusing cards - you could market them as crafted cards - or some other techy wording.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
