Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 21-3-2026 — “A House Divided”

21st March, 2026: “A House, Divided”.

Right, then … it’s Saturday morning: and I’ve officially got enough money to get a haircut.

I can only hope my usual barber’s open: and not got much of a cue.

Hey … … … ho!

~≈Ú≈~

I mentioned, at the start of the week, that I feel anxious when I don’t have backups: don’t have an unopened box of meds, say, ready to use when the open one is finished.

Or another bottle of ketchup, or salt, or frozen veg, what-have-you … !

At the end of last week, the buttons on my TV remote, went: as has the cable on my expensive webcam.

The remote was worrying: as using the spare as the main remote now means I had no spare.

Thankfully?

I was able to replace it, yesterday: and now have two spare remotes, a cable, and a box set, due, today.

Here’s hoping they get here, nice and quick.

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with Debbi scoring four out of five and Mum on three.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        “A House Divided” was broadcast on 21st March.   21st March of which year: 1979, 1980 or 1981?

Q2)        The episode was aired on which US TV channel: NBC, ABC or CBS?

Q3)        “A House Divided” was an episode of what: Dallas, Dynasty or The Young and the Restless?

Q4)        The series focused on a famously fractious family.   Which family: the Barnes, the Ewings or the Carringtons?

Q5)        Finally … ?   Who got shot at the end of “A House Divided”?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1)        20th March, 2026, is Red Nose Day.   The event will be aired on which BBC channel: BBC1, BBC2 or ITVX?
A1)        BBC1.

Q2)        The event is organised by Comic Relief.   Comic Relief was founded in which year of the 1980s?
A2)        1986.

Q3)        Catherine Tate will be one of this year’s presenters.   She’ll be presenting it as which of her comedy characters: Nan, Lauren or the Aga Saga Woman?
A3)        Joanie Taylor: better known as Nan.

Q4)        The first Red Nose Day was held in which year of the 1980s?
A4)        1988.

Q5)        Finally … ?   This Year’s Red Nose Day is being held at a studio called dock10. dock10 is where: Greater London, Greater Manchester or Liverpool?
A5)        Greater Manchester.
Here’s a thought …
“I’ll kill him.   I swear I’ll kill him.”
Kristin Shepard, played by Mary Crosby.
And an clue

The next ten-question set is on 25th March: it’s about Greece.

Your comments, and today’s answers, will be published in tomorrow’s Teaser.

AI is avoided when writing these questions.

Answers are as accurate as possible: at the time of writing.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!   (It was 1986 and 1988, Mum, not 1985 and 1985.)

I’ll bet it was, Debbi: isn’t Roswell in New Mexico?   The state’s probably covered in alien invaders … !
The first Red Nose Day was 1988, not 1986, Debbi: the first event, in ’86, was under the title, Comic Relief.

  2. Ah, I see.

I'm listening to a very interesting local political debate/PR op. It's making me laugh, and it's not even Trump-related. :)

We didn't see any aliens. Which doesn't mean they weren't there. :)

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
