Q4)2, Willow Road, is an art museum in London. The building, itself, was designed by an architect called what: Dr Julian No, Ernő Goldfinger or Hugo Drake?
A4)Ernő Goldfinger. (The Bond villain, Auric Goldfinger, is named after Ernő: the latter lived nest door to Ian Fleming.)
Q5)Finally … ? Glamis Castle is a castle, and a museum. It was the childhood home of which member of the Royal Family: King Charles 3rd, Elizabeth 2nd or Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother?
A5)Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. In addition, Princess Margaret, the sister of the late Elizabeth 2nd, was born there. And, on top of that, there’s supposed to be a monster in residence.
Here’s a thought …
“Fair play fosters mutual respect among participants, teaching us to value and honour one another.”
From the sponsoring body’s entry on the day.
And a Soul II Soul song …

* Hello, Mum! (It was Ernő Goldfinger, Mum, not Hugo Drake!)
† Morning, Irene: how IS the day … ?
‡ Fleming named Auric Goldfinger after Ernő, Debbi. Apparently, Fleming named Hugo Drax after Admiral Reginald Drax, and named Blofeld after a friend from school. Where he got ‘Doctor No’ from, I don’t know: but it was used as a nickname for Ian Paisley. (As I recall, Debbi? He choose the ornithologist’s name because it sounded bland … )
I can remember seeing Blackeyes, back in the day. That was a very odd piece, if I recall.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
