Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 4th November 2026

4th November, 2026.

Right …

I think I can say a couple of things.

One … ?

I’ve officially been covered in KY jelly, and been ultrasounded.

Or, at least, my liver has had an ultrasound scan.

I’ll learn the results when my GP gets them.

Alongside the results of liver function blood tests … that I still haven’t managed to book, yet!

Pass the phone, Vicar!

The other thing to mention … ?

Is simply this.

Yes, I have finished another review of an episode of Star Trek Strange New Worlds: and thought you’d want to share it …

Let’s move on.

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Mum* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with Debbi scoring five out of five, and Mum on three.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video.

Q1)        Loretta Swit was born on 4th November, 1937.   Her character in M*A*S*H, ‘Hot Lips’ Houlihan, was a what: major, sergeant or captain?

Q2)        Ms Swit played Christine Cagney: in the pilot episode of which US detective show?

Q3)        Matthew McConaughey was born on 4th November, 1969.   2014 saw him given the Best Actor Oscar.   For which film: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Dallas Buyers Club or Godzilla?

Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q5)        Finally … ?   Dominica became independent on 3rd November, 1978.   From where?
A5)        The UK.
Here’s a thought …
“I’m not interested in being married.   I have a career and friends and things I care about doing.   I don’t want a lot of other demands.”
Loretta Swit, November 4, 1937 – May 30, 2025.
And a Delbert McClinton song …

The next ten question sets are on 8th, 10th, 19th, 25th and 29th November: they’re about Monty Python’s Life of Brian, All Quiet on the Western Front, Quatermass and the Pit, Journey to the Centre of the Earth and the Grand Ole Opry.

Your comments, and today’s answers, will be published in tomorrow’s Teaser.

AI is used to suggest themes for some dates: but avoided when writing the questions.

Answers are as accurate as possible, at the time of writing.

Decisions about scores are final.

Thank you for coming: have a good day.

*        Hello, Mum!   (The book was published in ’58, not ’51, Mum.  And Dominica became independent from, was the UK, rather than France.)

†        Didn’t Theatre of Blood star Vincent Price, Debbi?   I’ve never seen it.
Are you still using the Comcast email, Debbi?   I can send them through WeTransfer, if needed.   But you should be able to download the episodes from here, and the DVD extras from here.   But you’ve got until 09:50GMT on 5th November.

Post a Comment

I love it when people comment. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively adult. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

If you can also leave you comments on today’s Teaser Video, that would be good.

Thank you.

*   I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
