The introductory one, that is: I had to upload yesterday’s to Youtube, and embed it in to the post.
Quite why, when Blogger’s been happy to embed into the post, I don’t know.
At any rate … ?
After yesterday’s problems with Final Cut Pro — my music libraries weren’t showing up in the app — I and the agent managed to work out that it was due to lag: as I have my music on an external hard drive.
Lag.
Lag … !
Considering it wasn’t much of an issue under Sequoia, I’m vaguely annoyed!

Q5) The Satanic Verses I hope you can solve the problem with the blog. I've noticed I'm having trouble reading some of the ARC copies I get through NetGalley. They freeze and on my Kindle and I have to keep closing them and trying opening it again, but sometimes it only works for a few pages and the same thing happens. I mentioned this to one of the authors, who sent me the same copy he'd posted to NetGalley (in theory) but I had no problems with that one at all, and I can also use text-to-speech with it, while I can't with the NetGalley copies (I used to be able to, but they seem to have changed something and that feature doesn't work anymore). A pain... I spent most of the day out and about yesterday, attending a workshop on Dementia in the morning and then covering an interesting piece of news in the afternoon, a new local sci-fi film festival. It was the first edition, so they were all quite excited about it (the main organizer had been working in Silicon Valley for several years, on AI, but he has now come back and wants to do some things in the neighbourhood, as he was born here). I thought the opening was at 18:30, but it wasn't until 20:00, and as I had to go and pick up the equipment at the readio station and be there by 17:00, I ended up spending most of the afternoon and early evening there, and had no time for anything else. It was interesting and they are having an internation competition for sci-fi shorts, but again, it will be a late evening event today, so I'll just have to ask him to send me the names of the winners.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
