The Daily Teaser …

Blimey!

I’ve got to confess, I’m writing up today’s Teaser with ITV3 on, in the background; they’ve been showing various episodes of the Jeremy Brett version of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.

I’ve got to admit, I’ve always felt — like many other people — that his berserk performance as Holmes was definitive. And it’s easy, watching the show, to see why!

Anyway, let’s move on, shall we? Shall we?

Yes, lets!!

We Have a Situation, with yesterday’s Teaser; it was a three way tie, between Trevor Andrea, and Tim, all getting Five out of Five. But I’m thinking Andrea gets round of applause, for getting her answers up, first!!

So, without much further ado, here’s the ‘How To’, the ‘License’ and today’s questions …

Q1) October 20th, 1819, saw the birth of The Bab, generally considered the founder of which modern religion?

Q2) In 1905, October 20th saw the founding of which Turkish football club?

Q3) Today in 1947, saw the start of the House Committee on Un-American Activities; which suburb of Los Angeles did it start investigating, over allegations of communism?

Q4) 20th, October, 1967, saw Roger Patterson, and Robert Gimlin film something that appeared to be … what?

Q5) And finally, today in 1973 saw the Dalai Lama make his first visit to which country?

And here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 19th October, 1989, saw the release of who; the Guildford 4, the Birmingham Six, or the Maguire Seven?

A1) The Guildford Four.

Q2) 19th October, 1781, saw the end of the American Revolutionary War, which British forces surrendered to the Americans; but in which Virginia town?

A2) Yorktown.

Q3) On 19th October, 1935, the League of Nations imposed sanctions on Fascist Italy, after Italy invaded which country?

A3) Ethiopia; generally referred to as Abyssinia, at the time.

Q4) Today in 2005, saw which former dictator go on trial for Crimes Against Humanity?

A4) Saddam Hussein.

Q5) And finally, today in 1973 saw President Nixon refuse to hand over what?

A5) The Watergate Tapes.

Enjoy those, folks; I’ll catch you later!!

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
