The Daily Teaser …

Good Grief!

I don’t know what channel I’ve got on in the background, but they’ve just shown ad’s for HM Armed Forces Action Figures.

Dearie, Dearie Me!

Somewhere in the Blogosphere are a lot of gags about the Army recruiting young, and that’s gonna add to them, I think … !

•••••

Let’s move on, shall we?

Bless, Sarah managed to pick up a round of applause, yesterday; both for getting her answer’s in first, AND having her birthday party, yesterday.

Didn’t get her any extra points, though …

Which is a shame, because I know Andrea, Tim, Trevor and Andy did very well; even though Tim managed to get distracted by Jensen Button winning the Grand Prix, yesterday. (The Driver’s Championship, as well, I think; I’m no expert on these things, though … But it’s nice to know that a Brit’s done well, two years in a row.)

Anyway, here’s the ‘How To’, along with today’s questions …

Q1) 19th October, 1989, saw the release of who; the Guildford 4, the Birmingham Six, or the Maguire Seven?

Q2) 19th October, 1781, saw the end of the American Revolutionary War, which British forces surrendered to the Americans; but in which Virginia town?

Q3) On 19th October, 1935, the League of Nations imposed sanctions on Fascist Italy, after Italy invaded which country?

Q4) Today in 2005, saw which former dictator go on trial for Crimes Against Humanity?

Q5) And finally, today in 1973 saw President Nixon refuse to hand over what?

And here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) Today in 2000 saw the death of Jazz singe, Julie London; her hit, “Cry Me A River”, featured in which Hugo Weaving film?

A1) “V for Vendetta”.

Q2) 18th October, 1767, saw the establishment of the Mason Dixie line; name either of the two US states it seperates.

A2) Maryland or Pennsylvania.

Q3) 18th October, 1925, saw the USA’s oldest continuous radio programmes start its broadcasts from Nashville, Tennessee; what is it?

A3) “The Grand Ole Oprey”.

Q4) Today in 1963, saw who named as the new Conservative party leader, and PM?

A4) Lord Home. (Or Sir Alec Douglas-Home, as he latter became.)

Q5) And finally, today is the Feast day of Saint Luke the Evangelist; is he the patron saint of artists, sportsmen, or soldiers?

A5) Artists.*

Enjoy though, folks, I’ll catch you later.

* And, seemingly, butchers and surgeons … Oh, and students … Andrea, it’s not that strange, early surgeons were butchers; they were the only ones who knew what they were doing with cleavers and legs …

OK, a patron Saint of students and artists, with butchers and surgeons as a side franchise …
