Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 30-6-2026 — International Asteroid Day

30th July, 2026: International Asteroid Day.

OK …

It’s a Tuesday morning: and the day after I’ve been to my most recent weigh-in.

And?

And, I hear you ask?

Yes: I’ve officially lost some six hundred grams.

About 1.3 pound, in Imperial.

That’s good: and offsets the 500 gram that my weight had gone up by.

That’s a result.

Streamed movies and TV shows …

I don’t think we can deny it: streamed entertainment, whether we’re talking about games, movies, music or TV shows, are incredibly entertaining …

And incredibly convenient.

However?

This article, from AV Club, tells us that Sony are to remove roughly 550 titles available from their PlayStation Store.

Despite many customers having purchased theoretically permanent copies.

The removal of those titles, titles people have paid good money for?

Is going to cause resentment.

Especially if — from what the article says — there’s no sign of a potential refund.

And especially when you consider the only effective way of countering this — buying the blu-ray version of a title — means potentially coughing up extra cash for a title you may already own.

Personally, I think that buying blu-rays, and other physical media, is the better option.

Yes: you may well be paying twice.

But yes: you’re not losing access to something you’ve paid for.

Sony, and others, are hardly going to bang on your door and demand ‘their’ property back*.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 14-6-2017: A Love Like Blood …

I think late nights are getting to me!

I actually had a night off, last night.

Watching the opening episodes of series one of American Horror Story.

Interesting stuff, American Horror Story: although the pilot episode wasn’t the thing the completely convinced me.

Personally?   I think I’m going to have to watch a bit more.

But the fact each series of AHS released so far has a different theme, plot and cast?

Has intrigued me.

If you’re in the UK, right now?

You’ve probably seen the news that Grenfell Tower, in North Kensington?

Has, quite literally gone up in smoke, overnight.   With at least fifty people in hospital … and talk of fatalities.

The scary thing, for me?

I work in a call centre in Chelmsfold: one that takes calls from various social landlords.

If your boiler goes wrong, your landlord’s obliged to fix it.

And, if it’s an emergency repair — you’re a vulnerable person whose heating has just gone, there’s an uncontainable leak or you’ve been locked in or out — we’re the people you’d end up talking, to get an engineer out.

One of those landlords?   Is the one that handles Grenfell Tower.

Something’s gone very wrong …

I can only hope there’s as few deaths as possible, as a result.

The Daily Teaser — 26-2-2016

Well …

I’ve officially finished watching the first series of The Strain.

And have to admit, that’s a damn good series.

It’s not THAT often I mention the box-sets I’ve been watching, here in the Teasers …

But The Strain, along with Penny Dreadful … ?

Are both worth catching.
