Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6th October 2025.

6th October, 2026.

Yes, it’s officially official: I have a cheap USB stick, on that I can wave at passing readers!

These day’s … ?

It’s still handy to have a few of them, around: which is why I’m taking it to my weight management meeting, today.

I’ve been asked for copies of things …

~≈🥖≈~

There’s talk — inevitably — that more lost episodes of Dr Who have been found.

Or, at least, that lost episodes are in the hands of private collectors: and may be made available to the BBC.

I hope so.

With ninety-seven episodes missing, it would be nice to see complete lost stories found.

Marco Polo, The Mythmakers, and Fury From the Deep would be nice to see.

The third episode of The Web of Fear would be great: the animated replacement is awful.

But … ?

I’d love to see The Daleks’ Master Plan, completed.

Ands The Space Pirates!

Its writer, Robert Holmes?

Was one of TV’s finest.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6th October 2024.

6th October, 2024.

Right … it’s Sunday.

And … ?

And very aware you know what an ‘earworm’ is.

It’s a song — or parts of a song — that’s playing its way around your head: sometimes for no apparent reason.

I get those.

I’m also wondering what the term is for a word that’s stuck in your head.

Because, every-so-often, I get the word, ‘yurt’, stuck in my head: and, for no apparent Reaser, compelling me to use or mention it, somehow.

Why?

I have no idea.

But … ?

I want to know what a word like that’s called!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6th October 2023.

6th October, 2023.

Right … I am a man who’s officially — officially, mind — finished watching Good Omens second series.

Which means I’ve got a few Fridays free to watch a few other things: before I settle in, watching the Dr Who 60th Anniversary specials.

I might just have to catch a film.

We’ll have to see.

~≈¥≈~

Talking of which … ?

Writing the reviews of those could be a job and a half.

With the BBC not having released airing dates for those specials, I’m wondering about how they’ll be aired.

Once a week, up until the 23rd: or daily, in the manner of Torchwood: Children of Earth.

Which will probably be wonderful to watch … but a lot of late nights if you’re a reviewer!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6th October, 2022.

6th October, 2022.

It’s Thursday: and, yes, I’m up, early again.

Yes, you’re right: I’ve another podiatrist’s appointment ay Brentwood Hospital’s Badger Ward.

This one … ?

Is very specifically about my left foot: which is definitely wonky.

Hopefully?

We’ll be able to do something about it.

~≈§≈~

I had an interview, yesterday: by video call.

It went well enough.

Apparently, I’ve got the job: providing I successfully complete an assessment.

One which is due to arrive in my inbox any time up to 13:00, tomorrow.

I’ve also been asked for my NI number and passport.

Which sounds like I’ve been definitely successful.

However?   I’ve asked if I can delay that: until I’ve successfully passed the assessment.

I’d rather guarantee I’ve got the job: before handing over details, prematurely.

~≈§≈~

Before I forget … ?

I’ve finally managed to catch a movie.

Feel free to like and share the video version … !

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6th October, 2021.

6th October, 2021.

Right …

It’s 6th October, 2021.

And the uplift to Universal Credit, the main benefit I and thousands of others are on?

Finishes today.

I and others will be some eighty-six pounds a month worse off.

This Conservative government … ?

I suspect this Conservative government, a government that’s shown itself incapable of sympathising with many people who relied on that uplift?

I suspect that government — come the next election — is going to lose a lot of votes.

Watchmen — Series 1 Episode 3 — She Was Killed by Space Junk — A Review

6th October, 2020.

Right …

It has to be said: I watched episode 2 — Martial Feats of Comanche Horsemenship — of Watchmen, last week.

I watch it on Tuesday … and, having had the day I’d had?

Started the review on Tuesday evening.

Then went to bed: and finished the review on Wednesday.

Right at the moment … ?

It’s a Tuesday, I’ve just watched the third episode: and I’m going to do it again: get an early night.

But … ?

To keep myself motivated, I felt it important enough to get started on this write up.

Bed beckons.

But not before I tell you’ve seen the third episode of Watchmen, series one.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser  — 6th October, 2020

6th October, 2020.

Alleluia!

We’ve now had the upstairs window repaired.

Although that’s possibly too strong a phrase.

It’s been made safe.

In other words, it’s been temporarily repaired: so that intruders can’t get in, or the thing fall off, until a more permanent repair is put in place.

Here’s hoping that’s quick!

~≈¥≈~

You’ve been keeping you eyes on the news, haven’t you … ?

You’ve realised Cineworld’s temporarily closing its venues.   And that the next James Bond film’s been postponed again.

You’ve possibly realised I’m a fan of Frank Herbert’s Dune.

I was looking forward — even under Covid-19 restriction — to see the most recent film version when it got released in November.

Well … Dune’s been delayed until next year.

And the Odeon chain’s planing to only open at weekends.

Bill and Ted Face the Music had a mixed theatrical and VOD release.

Given the closures, I’m convinced that’s the way Dune, and No Time To Die, should have gone.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6-10-2019: Instagram

6th October, 2019.

Right, I’m expecting.

A book, before you ask!

It’s seems the copy of The Hellbound Heart I ordered, has now been despatched.

All to the good.

The rest of the stuff I’ve ordered … ?

Is still sitting around in an Amazon Fulfilment Centre, somewhere.

~≈§≈~

I have to admit, the fourth season of Mr Robot starts airing, today.

Frankly?

I’m looking forward to seeing that.

I’m also looking forward to something else.

Star Trek: Picard.

Well, it’s officially official.

It’s getting released on Amazon Prime on 24th, January, next year.

And on US platforms, a day earlier.

It’s nice to see a few old characters turning up, I know that: Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis), Will Riker (Jonathon Frakes) and Seven of Nine (Jerri Ryan) all getting a look in.

But?

I’m frustrated.

The release date’s three whole bloody months away!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6th October, 2018.

6th October, 2018.

Yep: I’m back at work, today.

And … ?

Well …

Yes: it’s the one shift I have, this week.

Yes, it means money — not a lot, but still money.

But I can’t help but feel a certain amount of resentment at doing the one shift I’m scheduled for … by a job that doesn’t, seemingly, want me.

~≈§≈~

In other news?

My boiler — finally — works!

The chap was around, yesterday: at just after one.

And was here fro about two hours: doing assorted bits and bobs, to get the thing fixed.

It’s now working.

Well …

It’s not failed, yet, let’s put it that way.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6-10-2017: The Jazz Singer.

Hmmm …

I’m feeling vaguely rushed, this morning.

As I’ve got to go to work, early, today.

I’m also expecting a phone call.

Would you believe it, I’ve still not heard back from the interview I had, last week.

That’s got me worried: and thinking that I’ve not got the job.

I’m …

Well … concerned.

And worried about money.

What IS a boy to do?

Except, possibly, email or go into the place, to see what’s happened.

Here’s hoping …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 6-10-2016

Oh, would you believe it … ?

I’ve got MORE printing to do.

Yesterday?

Yesterday, I completed what I thought was the last bit of printing I need to do.

I had.

Or, at least, I’d done the last bits of printing … for my new employers.

That was done …

But frankly?

I’m now off over to my mother’s, to borrow my sister’s printer … to do the last bits the Job Centre needs … !

Oy vey … !
