Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 26-8-2022 — Captain Cook’s First Voyage

26th August, 2022.

Amazon can make a mistake or two, sometimes.

Not that I’m planning to say anything to them!

I usually order two 600g tubs of Marmite, every month.

With each tub lasting a fortnight, I’m usually happy.

This week … ?   I’ve ordered two more tubs.

Which — theoretically — turned up yesterday.

Notice I say theoretically.

I think someone made a mistake, at their end.

What I ACTUALLY got … ?

Was two boxes of six tubs.

About six month’s worth.

I’ve got rid of some: but have to ask … 

Would anyone like a tub* … … ?

The UK’s got an entry regulator: called Ofgem.

They set price caps on the cost of gas and electricity, every few months.

This time last year?   The average bill was about £1000.

The raised caps Ofgem announced, today?

Means the average is now nearer £3549.

What that means for me … ?

Means I’m going to see more of my money being sunk into my fuel meters.

Marmite, aside … ?

Winter’s going to be tough.

The Daily Teaser — 11-6-2015: Down Under …

Well … 

That’s something … 

If you recall, I’d run into trouble with Amazon, when they took quite a BIT of money from my account: without my realising they would do so.

They’ve since refunded it: which has allowed me to buy the stuff I was going to buy in the first place: a week after it was going to get here.

I was expecting tomorrow.

But it looks like it’ll be turning up, today.

I hope so.   I’d like to start rebuilding my collection of TV shows and photos from the few online resources I have.

Which is going to take a while …

I’m STILL not a happy bunny.

Well, at least I’ve been able to organise a better class of references.

I’ve been able to do something, in other words.

No, seriously … ?   Because, if I didn’t know any better, I’d SWEAR a dog was barking, last night … !

Well, I say barking: howling, occasionally.

I have to admit to wondering whether I was imagining things: although I don’t think I was.

And if I wasn’t … ?   

Well, I think I’d like to know what was going on … !
