Right … today’s Tuesday: and yes, I’m expecting Jude — my nephew — this afternoon.

Video is possibly going to happen.

Especially as we have some for Ruth: Jude’s mother and my sister.

Hopefully, we’ll be able to get that sorted, quickly.

Assuming Mummy’s not forgotten to send her USB stick!

Phone calls: phone calls, phone calls, phone calls, phone calls, phone calls!

I was on the phone a lot, yesterday: chasing down the Cost of Living voucher for January.   As it hasn’t turned up, yet.

That was relatively easy to sort out: my energy supplier has sent out another, which should be with me by Thursday.

Hopefully.

The other problem?

Is that I qualify for a £150 Warm Home discount: that should go onto my Key meter.

Has it, yet?   When last year’s went on, speedily?

Nope!

So?

I phoned my supplier, yesterday: for what felt like the Nth time.

After a couple of attempts: I got through.

Only to be told to phone the Department of Work and Pensions, the dept. that runs the Job Centre, and organises benefits.

They were busy all bloody day!

I’m going to have another go, today.

Lord, it’s frustrating!

Yep: it’s a Monday morning: my benefit’s gone through … 

And, frankly, I’ve got to get my rear out of bed: so I can pay bills and get shopping.

Well, it’s that time of the month.

So to speak!

I got a message, this morning.

Through Facebook’s phone based, Messenger app.

One that vanished by the time I got to my desktop, to double check.

I’ve managed to track down the person’s whose name was on the thing, just to let them know there’s possibly an issue.

But beyond that … ?

Well … I’m blowed if I know what’s happening!

Which is not something to confess to, if, like me, you write blogposts themed around what day it is.

As a quick thought … ?

I noticed this piece on the BBC’s new site, the other day.

It explains how researchers have found that using renewable energy sources — specifically, solar panels and wind farms — could alter the rainfall patterns in arid dry deserts like the Sahara: making them greener areas, that potentially could be used as valuable farmland.

Personally?

I’m no scientist, but think that could be a good thing: after all, with an increasing population, anything that lets us grow more food would be useful.

My first thought, though?

Dune fan that I am, I quietly thought the area, home of the tribal people that supposedly were the inspiration for the novel’s Fremen … 

Would get dozens of them, running over a dune, yelling ‘Muad’Dib.’

Thank GODS for that … 

I actually managed to get through a very long shift, yesterday — a total of nine and a half hours — without my guts kicking off!

Which surprised me, I know that much … !

The one thing that DIDN’T … ?

Was the fact I felt completely knackered at the end of it.

And definitely a bit … you know … 

Grouchy … !

At any rate, one piece of news caught my attention, yesterday.

We’ve got a charity sweepstakes on the go, at work.

Basically, if you pick the winning team at this years Euro2016 tournament?

You get a prize.

I don’t who’s going to win: I’m no kind of football fan.

I do know I’ve got Wales.

Who are doing rather well …
