Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 30th August 2025.

30th August, 2025.

Right, then: it’s Saturday.

And … ?

For starters, I’ll have finished my Star Trek review, tonight: “Four-and-a-Half Vulcans” is very funny!

On top of that … ?

I’ve caught the most recent episode of Foundation: “Skin in the Game” has seen Lee Pace putting in one hell of a performance as Brother Day*.

What else … ?

Oh, yes: I’ve woken up with MrWeebl’s “Shrimp Glockenspiel” earworming its way through my head.

Why, I don’t know.

But the video has bongo-playing crabs, if that’s any help … ?

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 30-8-2024 — Melbourne

30th August, 2024: Melbourne.

Right … Fridays … !

It’s a day for fun, laughter, stuff, and — possibly — frolics.

Or, if you’re me, taking another shot of Mounjaro.

Quite why the stuff leaves me with the jitters?

I really don’t know!

~≈💉≈~

JUST in case you wondered … ?

Yes: my nephew, Jude, was over, last night!

As well as managing another video … ?

We managed to have an exciting adventure in Sainbury’s.

Buying kale for Mikey the Rabbit.

It’s a bit of a social whirl … !

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 30-8-2023 — The Assassination Attempt.

30th August, 2023: The Assassination Attempt!

Wednesdays …

Or hump day, as they used to get called!

It’s another one!

Which means?

Frankly, I’ve got to pick a few bits and bobs up.

And … ?

Jump out of my skin: when my phoned beeped.

It was the Department of Work and Pensions, again: telling me they’ll let me know about my PIP claim on the 26th os September.

Hey … ho … !

~≈¥≈~

Additionally … ?

It’s Wednesday.

Which means it’s the day after Tuesday.

And, as is traditional, by now?

My nephew’s published another video.

Feel free to hit the Like and Share buttons.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 30th August 2022.

30th August, 2022.

Yes, it’s officially Tuesday: and my nephew’s popping over, this afternoon!

I’m looking forward to that.

But it does means there’ll be more videos.

Ahem!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 30th August, 2021.

30th August, 2021.

It’s doing it again!

The weather, that is.

It’s looking distantly grey out!

Not that I was planning to go very far …

But that doesn’t look nice …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 30-8-2020: 30 Days of Night.

30th August, 2020.

Right …

I officially have a pile of bits and bobs to do, today.

Mostly … ?

Bits of editing and some tidying up.

And possible, stuff I’ve forgotten.

We’ll see.

News … news, news, news, news, news.

I know I and regulars Olga and Debbi have — briefly — mentioned serial killers: after the trailer for Des, ITV’s docu-drama about Dennis Nilsen, dropped.

It’s one of those subjects that will get a lot of discussion, I think.

At any rate?

EssexLive.com tells us that bin bags of human remains have been found ‘at a river near Essex.’

I have two hopes, there.

One?   That the remains are identified quickly: so the family can be told.

Two … ?

That it’s a one off.

I’d hate to see a Green River Killer in the UK …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 30th August, 2019.

30th August, 2019.

Isn’t it amazing what happens … when you mention Boris?

Frankly?

You’ll get someone — I owe regular, Olga a thank you, there — mentioning Hugh Grant.

It seems he’s offended by the Johnson administration’s decision to prorogue Parliament, as well.

Good going, Hugh.

Oh, JUST as a side issue … ?

It seems Alibaba CEO, Jack Ma, and Tesla head, Elon Musk, were at a conference, yesterday: having a debate about the benefits and perils of artificial intelligence.

Personally?   I’m aware AI’s introduction will have an negative impact: but generally think it’s going to be a long term benefit.

I’m just surprised that noted science fiction fan, Elon Musk, is noticeable anti-AI: as he’s named a couple of his ship landing platforms after AI characters in the Iain M. Banks novels.

And probably familiar with these words …
  1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
  2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
  3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Laws.
Granted we’re still learning to build AI: and Mr Musk seems to have not realised we’re human … and like adding built in safety features …

I hope Mr Musk realises that …

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 30th August, 2018

30th August, 2018.

Yes: I’ve updated my screen savers: to include the XScreenSavers that get handed out for free..

In a word … ?

Yay!

Gosh, you’re excited, aren’t you.

I’m not, either.

But the various Matrix style screen savers the thing includes are rather good.

As is the Lament Configuration one.

It’s all fun: assuming Pinhead doesn’t turn up.

~≈§≈~

I’ve been watching the technology news again.

And couldn’t help but notice that Air Canada, and a Chinese hotel corporation, have suffered major data breaches.

In the case of the hotel company?

One hundred and forty gigabytes of their customers data is being made available on the dark net.

Frankly?

If I were a customer of either, I’d be changing bank account passwords, if possible.

The thing that caught my attention, though?

Was the amount of data the Chinese hoteliers had stolen.

One hundred and forty gigabytes.

One hundred and forty gigabytes.

My horror film collection is bigger.

But not by much!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 30-8-2017

It’s a god-awful, small, affair …

To the girl with the mousey hair …

Yep, you’re right …

I’ve got up this morning, happily made a pot of tea, cleaned my had the usual medication …

And realised someone had put an earworm on me.

I really couldn’t tell you if there’s Life on Mars.

Really, I couldn’t.

But I can say there’s a song about it …

Jennifer’s Body: succubi, incubi … oh, and teenage hormones … !

30/08/2012 22:46

You know, that’s REALLY starting to get to be a habit.

You know …

Grabbing a screen shot of some description, just to show you I ’ve had Bruce hooked up to my TV set, to watch a movie.

The really weird bit … ?

Was that 2009 film, Jennifer’s Body, was one I’d actually taped from Channel’s film channel, last Saturday night: and transferred over to Bruce — my Mac Mini — to watch later.

Oh …

And that an extraneous pair of feet seem to have wondered in from somewhere …

±±±±±

31/08/2012 20:54

Well, of course a pair of feet wondered in: I’m actually sort of thankful that my chair’s comfy enough — and big enough — for me to really bleb out, should I so choose.

I usually do, if I think I have something to watch.

Thankfully, I did, last night.

The film in question being the one I’d taped, last Saturday: the anarchic 2009 horror comedy, Jennifer’s Body.

Told as an extended flashback, Jennifer’s Body sees Amanda Seyfried and Megan Fox as Needy and Jennifer, a pair of schoolgirl friends who manage to sneak off to a local bar, to catch a band that’s playing there.

When the bar burns down, mid-gig, they manage to get separated: Jennifer being effectively kidnapped by the band, whilst Needy is left to struggle home on her own.

It’s not until Jennifer manages to get back to Needy’s — looking like a serious wreck, and vomiting slimy black goo all over the kitchen floor — that Needy realises the band weren’t quite what they seems.

And that the mysterious deaths — of a local exchange student, the school quarterback and a local emo — that Jennifer isn’t as unscarred as she claims to be …

±±±±±

Now …

Jennifer’s Body: good, bad or indifferent … ?

Well, just to avoid answering that one, I’d say “Fun,” actually.

Which is a fairly accurate comment.

Oh, I’m sure those of us looking for flaws will find dozens.   But Jennifer’s Body is about people getting hideously killed and eaten by Megan Fox*.

It’s not necessarily this year’s big Art House DVD release!

Putting it bluntly, if you liked Heathers, then Jennifer’s Body will be right up your street.

I loved Heathers, myself …
Jennifer’s Body

*        Yeah, I had to think for a minute, there: writing “getting eaten by Megan Fox” would’ve got me trouble …
