7th November, 2026.
OK … Prunesquallor — the faux-Gormenghast version of me lurking in the above video’s thumbnail — has escaped.
Oh, at least, is in the thumbnail, picking up my new spectacles!
Something I’m going to be doing myself, later today: as the new set have turned up, and need to be fitted.
The only problem?
Is that the appointment’s at one.
Lunch may have to wait.

As you’re no doubt aware, Russell Brand has been convicted of various sexual offences: and is now facing sentencing, on Monday.
I’m tempted to call him a comedian: except I never found him especially funny*.
At any rate?
The former performer has spent his first night in HMP Wandsworth.
In what’s called the Care and Support Unit, where especially vulnerable prisoners end up: a block that’s separate from the usual Vulnerable Prisoners wings.
Even knowing Wandsworth’s reputation?
I’m not exactly sympathetic.
If he didn’t want the time, he shouldn’t’ve done the crime.
Let’s move on.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

And a song …

* I have distinct memories of seeing the man as a guest on Have I Got News for You, and Never Mind the Buzzcocks: partnered with Ian Hislop on the former, and Noel Fielding on the latter. Hislop seemed underwhelmed by Brand, and Fielding seemed intimidated. But that could just be me …
† Hello, Mum: six out of six, yesterday.
‡ We used to have family holidays in Cornwall, Debbi: many years ago. That’s the next county along from Devon, and is just as spectacular. Tintagel, one of the supposed homes of King Arthur, was gorgeous, but scarily high up!
I think it’s my turn to buy coffee, though …

I love it when people comment. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively adult. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
If you can also leave you comments on today’s Teaser Video, that would be good.
Thank you.
