The Daily Teaser …

You know, you can TELL it’s a quiet Saturday morning, can’t you?

For starter’s, the poster uploaded rather quickly!

Actually, feel free to drag, drop and redistribute that one: as the image is all me own work, I don’t mind people copying this one!

At any rate, Simon, Tim, and Andrea, all got 5 out of 5, in yesterday’s Teaser, with Simon getting the First-In-Clap and Ointment, Andrea getting the most relevant Quote Nod, Simon getting a musical ‘Huzzah’ — for a lyrical quote — and Tim getting a ‘Huzzah’ for putting a quote in, himself.

Not a very relevant quote, but Joliet Jake and his little brother are always acceptable … !

Anyway, let’s move on, shall we?

Shall we?

Here’s today’s question’s, along with the ‘How To’* and License

Q1) 9th January, 1768, saw former sergeant-major Phillip Astley open what’s considered to be the first modern-day … what?

Q7) And finally … today in 1890, saw the birth of Czech writer, Karel Čapekº: which word did he famously introduce to the English language?

And here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

A1) The Vikings.

Q2) More to the point, on which monastic island?

º Who, I’m told, was a touch … left wing …

I think I mentioned to Bob [Geldof] I could make love for eight hours. What I didn't say was that this included four hours of begging and then dinner and a movie.

I remember in the circus learning that the clown was the prince, the high prince. I always thought that the high prince was the lion or the magician, but the clown is the most important.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
