The Daily Teaser …

You know, I’ve got to admit, I love Friday’s, sometimes!

The Friday Teaser usually get a very good response: as you can tell, I had all four of my regulars — Simon, Trevor, Tim, and Andrea — get their answers in, yesterday, with everyone getting 7 out of 7, Simon getting the Official First-In-Clap, and Simon, Andrea, and Tim getting a quote in!

Trevor, you’re slacking!

Let’s move on, shall we? Shall we?

Yes, LET’S!

Here’s today’s questions, along with the ‘How To’ and License

Q1) 16th January, 1920, saw what go into effect, in the USA?

Q2) The Night of The 16th January is a play … by whom … ?

Q3) 16th January, 1979, saw Mohammed Reza Pahlevi forced to flee his home country: what country was that?

Q4) More to the point, how was Mohammed Reza Pahlevi better known?

Q5) 16th January, 1942, saw the crash of TWA Flight 3: which film star died in that crash?

Q6) And finally … today in 1948 saw the birth of Snooker player, Cliff Thorburn: what was his nickname?

And here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 15th January, 1759, saw the official opening of which British institution?

A1) The British Museum.

Q2) 200 years’s earlier, January 15th, 1559, saw the official coronation of which English Queen?

Q4) January 15th, 2009, saw US Airways Flight 1549 famously land … where?

A4) On the Hudson River. (Now, if I was President Obama, I’d not be giving the plane’s pilot, Captain Chesley Burnett “Sully” Sullenberger III, a medal. No. I’d want him flying Airforce One!)

Q5) 15th January, 1622, saw the birth of which French playwright?

A5) Jean-Baptiste Poquelin: better known, of course, as Molière.

Q6) 15th January, 1997, saw who call for the banning of a type of weapon.

A6) Princess Diana.

Q7) More to the point, what type of weapon?

A7) Land-mines.

Q8) And finally … 15th January, 1919, saw Ignacy Jan Paderewski become the first Prime Minister of which newly independent republic?

Enjoy those, every one: I’ll catch you later!

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
