The Daily Teaser …

Hmmmm …

Oooh …

You know, I’m convinced that, the older I get, the harder it is to get up in the morning!

It does, doesn’t it?

Especially on a day like today.

It is, after all, my birthday, today. And, before you ask, I’m 21.

For the 21st year in a row, unfortunately …

But at any rate, I do know that a), today is also International Book Day — apparently — and b), I couldn’t resist getting a little self-indulgant!

By doing a mildly self-centred Teaser.

I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist it …

I’m just hoping that — unlike yesterday’s Teaser — we get a few people having a go … !

Let’s get on with it, shall we?

Here’s today’s Teaser, along with the newly revised ‘How To’, and the usual License. Oh, and a bit of a movie … !

Q1) OK, I couldn’t resist this … I share my nickname with a character in which James Bond film?

Q2) More to the point, who played both that character, and Tattoo, in Fantasy Island?

Q3) More to point, I share my first name with the central character of which 1965, Frank Herbert Novel?

Q4) Equally to the point, what was that character’s full name?

Q5) I share my birthday — 4th March, 1968 — with which Emmerdale star and serial rockstar wife?

Q6) Who was that serial Rock wife’s first rock star husband?

Q7) Moving on, 4th March, 1675, saw who appointed as the Astronomer Royal?

Q8) 4th March, 1933, saw who inaugurated as President of the United States?

Q9) When I was one year old, 4th March, 1969, saw which twins found guilty of the murder of Jack ‘The Hat’ McVitie?

Q10) 4th March, 1980, saw who become the first Black Prime Minister of an independent Zimbabwe?

And here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 3rd March, 1845, saw which state admitted as the 27th sate of the USA?
A1) Florida.

Q2) 3rd March, 1875, saw the début performance of which opera by Georges Bizet?
A2) Carmen. (Now DUCK, before Simon does Chanson du Toreador … )

Q3) 3rd March saw the official end of the year long Miners Strike, in the UK: in which year of the 1980s was this?
A3) 1985.

Q4) More to the point, who was the leader — at the time — of the National Union of Mineworkers?
A4) Arthur Scargill.

Q5) Three years earlier, 3rd March, 1982, saw the Queen open which theatrical complex?
A5) The Barbican.

Q6) And finally … 3rd March, 1857, saw Britain and her ally, France start the Second Opium War, by declaring war on which country?
A6) China.

Enjoy those!

I’ll catch you later!

  9. What did everyone think of the new and improved ‘How To’, by the way?

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
