The Daily Teeaser …

Hmmm …

You know, I’ve got to admit, Saturday night TV can be a bit of a mixture, sometimes.

Did I tell you I caught the first episode of the remake of The Prisoner, last night? I’m a fan of the Patrick McGoohan original, so this … ?

Well …

About the only thing worth watching it for is Sir Ian McKellan.

Let’s leave it there …

And move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s teaser saw Trevor, Andrea and George all going head to head, with Trevor getting 7 out of 7, Angela bagging 1 point, and George — in the proverbial middle — scoring 3 out of 7.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s answers, shall we?

Here they are, along with the ‘How To’ and License

Q1) 18th April, 1956, saw Prime Minister Harold MacMillan unveil which financial product?

Q2) Fifty years earlier, 18th April, 1906, saw a massive earthquake hit which US city?

Q3) 18th April, 1980, saw the formal start of the Republic of Zimbabwe: who was it’s first President?

Q4) 18th April, 1960, saw the end of the Aldermaston ‘Ban the Bomb’ March: in which London square did this march end?

Q5) And finally … 18th April, 1949, saw the death of which English comic actor?

And here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 17th April, 1969, saw who elected as Britain’s youngest female MP?
A1) Bernadette Devlin.

Q2) More to the point, which constituence did she represent?
A2) Mid Ulster.

A3) The Canterbury Tales.

Q4) Just as too the point, who was the author of that work?
A4) Geoffrey Chaucer.

Q5) 17th April, 1986, saw the formal end of the Three Hundred and Thirty-Five year war between the Netherlands … and where?
A5) Believe it or not, The Isles of Scilly. (I know governments the world over are famous for losing important paperwork, but losing CEASEFIRE ORDERS? Ye mothering Gods!)

Q6) 17th April, 1923, saw the birth of director, Lindsay Anderson: which Malcolm McDowell film is his best remembered?
A6) if …

Q7) And finally … 17th April, 1961, saw the start of the notorious Bay of Pigs invasion: where was this an invasion of?
A7) Cuba.

Enjoy those, everyone: I’ll catch you later … !

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
