The Daily Teaser …

Bleurgh …

I’m glad — new job-wise — that I’ll be working in Brentwood, rather than Harrow, I really am!

A four hour ’round trip to work really isn’t my idea of fun … !

Oy veh … !

Lets get moving on, shall we … ?

Shall we … ?

Yes, lets … !

Yes, indeed …

And I’ll happily repeated one of my comments, yesterday: Kaiju, you can usually tell when I’m struggling for ideas …

Especially when saints turn up two days in a row!!

Ahem!

Yesterday’s Teaser saw both Kaiju and Trevor putting their answers: and saw both of them scoring 5 out of five, with Trevor putting in some quotes from Carrie Fisher, and Kaiju getting his answers in first.

Lets see how they — and you — do with today’s questions: here they are, along with the ‘How To’ and License
Q1) 22nd October, 1938, is the birthday of actor, Christopher Lloyd: in which of the Star Trek films did he appear as Commander Kruge.

Q2) More to the point, which character did he play in the iconic US series, Taxi … ?

Q3) 22nd October, 1983, saw which protest group hold its biggest protest march, in London … ?

Q4) 22nd October, 1964, saw who turn down the Novel Prize for Literature … ?

Q5) And finally … 22nd October, 1903 saw the birth of which member of the Three Stooges?
And here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 21st October, 1805, saw Admiral Lord Nelson and his forces involved in the Battle of Trafalgar: what was the name of the French government — headed by Napoleon Bonaparte — they were battling against … ?

A1) The First French Empire.

Q2) 21st October, 1824, saw Joseph Aspdin patent which building materiel … ?
A2) Portland cement. (The Magnesium content of Portland cement cannot by more than 5.0% by mass. Apparently …)

Q3) 21st October, 1942, saw the birth of Judith Sheindin: how is she better known to many US TV viewers … ?
A3) Judge Judy

Q4) Four years later, 21st October, 1946 saw the birth of the late singer, Lux Interior: which US punk band was he the lead singer of … ?
A4) The Cramps.

Q5) And finally … 21st October is the Feast day of Saint Ursula: is she the patron saint of archers, lancers or cavalry men … ?
A5) Archers.
I’ll catch you later, everyone!

Enjoy!

  2. 1. Who cares about Star Trek - Christopher Lloyd just went on tv with Michael J. Fox to get an anniversary award for Back to the Future. That's way more interesting.
    2. Iggy Ignatowski. And he stole the show, I might add.
    3. The one that was the most pissed off that day.
    4. The Novel prize? Don't know. But it was Sartre who turned down the Nobel prize.
    5. Oh, I'll say Curly. But they were all stupid. I hated that show.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
