The Eternal Jobhunt …

You know, I’ve got to admit, the job-hunt … ?

Is really not going well.

I’ve been into my local jobcentre, today: the usual fortnightly signing on for the benefit payment the government chooses to hand out.

And of course, I made sure I got there a earlier than I was due in.

Purely so I could browse through the job adverts the Jobcentre has there.

Hmmm …

I would LOVE to be able to tell you I’ve spotted something there I felt I had a chance of getting an interview — please notice the word — for.

There was nothing.

Nowt.

Nothing.

Diddly*.

It’s …

Well, it’s definitely turning into something of a grind.

Which to be frank … ?

Is something I think — hope, maybe — I can handle.

That doesn’t make it any easier, I know that much.

But DOES mean finding things to do — affordable ones, at that — is … helpful, let’s put it that way.

When I find something … ?

I’ll let you know … !

*        That’s assuming I’ve spelt that correctly: my American English isn’t stunning.

  1. You've got the spelling right. :)

I'm sorry to hear you haven't found a job or any leads yet. :-/

Here's hoping you find something soon. Hang in there. It'll probably happen when you least expect. :)

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
