The Daily Teaser — 30-12-2014

You know, that’s something I forgot to mention …

It was my nephew’s birth, last week!

Jude is now, officially, four.

Bless him!

We even had a official birthday party, on Sunday.

And, boy, I’m not getting any younger: a bunch of rampaging four year olds are exhausting.

I’ll tell you something else, too.

I don’t think I’ve seen THAT many ninja turtles!

Oy vey … !

But let’s move on shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: and scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How ToLicense and video …

Q1) 30th December, 1948, saw the opening — on Broadway — of the first musical to win a Best Musical Tony.   Which musical was it: Cabaret, Kiss Me Kate or Fiddler on the Roof?
Q2) Who wrote that musical?
Q3) 30th December, 1958, saw rebels surround the Cuban town of Santa Clara.   Who led the rebels?
Q4) 30th December, 2009, saw suicide bombers destroy a US base in Afghanistan.   Who was using the base: the US Army, the CIA or the FBI?
Q5) 30th December, 2006, saw the bombing of the Madrid–Barajas Airport.   The airport, and the city it serves, are in which European country?
Q6) Finally … 30th December, 2011, was formally missed: in Samoa and Tokelau.   Because of a change in what: calendar, time zone or presidential hair do?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 29th December, 2006, saw Britain finally repay the Anglo-American Loan: made to it by the US and Canada.   The loan was brokered by which famous, UK economist?
Q2) 29th December, 1959, saw Richard Feynman give his There’s Plenty Of Room At The Bottom speech.   It’s regarded as the birth of what: the silicon chip, nanotechnology or genetic fingerprinting?
Q3) 29th December, 1959, saw the opening of the Lisbon Metro.   Lisbon is the capital city of which European country?
A3) Portugal.
Q4) 29th December, 1997, saw authorities in Hong Kong start a cull of chickens: to prevent the spread of what?
A4) The H5N1 flu virus: commonly called Bird Flu.
Q5) Finally … 29th December, 1937, marked the formal foundation of the Republic of Ireland.   What had it been called, up until then?
I’ll leave you with this song …

And this song …

And this thought …
“Americans just don’t know what being a movie star’s all about.”

Patti Smith, 30th December, 1946.
Enjoy your day.

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
