The Daily Teaser — 1-4-2015: April Fool’s …

Right, that’s Gotham caught … !

I have to admit, it’s nice to know that Gotham’s back on Channel 5.

Although, it has to be said, that mid season Break is STILL a thing of major annoyance to me.

I’m still debating whether to keep on watching it.  The series is fantastic, I should add, and only looking to improve, in series 2: as this clip shows.

But … ?

Well, I have to admit, once Season 1’s over, I usually don’t watch THAT much Channel 5 to guarantee I’ll be catching any ‘Coming Soon’ type trailer.

I guess we’ll have to see.

The thing that does bother me?

Is the simple fact that — on Monday, the initial airing for episode 14 — the USB stick I was recording to … only caught about the first ten minutes or so.

Frustrating, that.

I’m just thankful Channel 5 have a +24 service …

But let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: and scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the LicenseLicense and video

Q1) 1st April, 2014, saw King’s College, Cambridge, announce they were replacing boy sopranos in their choir.   With men who’d inhaled what?
Q2) An April Fool’s Day joke — also on 1st April, 2014 — saw who show a 20-minute video of frying bacon?
Q3) The Internet Engineering Task Force — which builds and maintains the ’Net —  publishes its RFC: that specify how the ’Net works.   Its RFC for 1st April, 2014, detailed how to make what on the ’Net?
Q4) 1st April, 1982, saw the South China Daily Post announce that Hong Kong’s water shortages had been solved: by the introduction of what?
Q5) Finally … Frank Sinatra in 1945, Michael Bublé in 2008 and Bryan Ferry in 1973, all covered which 1936 song?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 31st March, 1492, saw Isabella order her Jewish and Muslim subjects to convert to Christianity.   Isabella was Isabella of where: Aragon, Castile or Catalonia?
A1) Castile.   (I’ve been binge-watching Game Of Thrones, just recently: the one picture I’ve seen of Isabella vaguely reminds me of Natalie Dormer, in full-on Margaery Tyrell mode.)
Q2) 31st March, 1964, saw Castelo Branco set up a military government: after a coup.   In which south American country?
A2) Brazil.
Q3) 31st March, 1909, saw construction start on the RMS Titanic.   In which city?
A3) Belfast.
Q4) 31st March, 1854, saw commodore Matthew Perry sign a treaty, that allowed the USA trade where: China, Japan or Korea?
A4) Japan.
Q5) Finally … 31st March, 1885, saw the UK establish the Protectorate of Bechuanaland.   The Protectorate is now known as which African country?
A5) Botswana.
I’ll leave you with this thought …
“When you want to fool the world, tell the truth.”

Otto von Bismark.
And this tune …

Enjoy your day.

*        Glad to hear it, Debbi!   (Although personally … ?   I do enjoy writing the ten question sets: they’re re-usable for the Gazette Teaser, and a bit of an artistic challenge … ! At ANY rate … did you know you’ve got built-in Dictation software … ? )

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
