The Daily Teaser — 30-8-2015: Heaven, Hell or Houston …

I’ve got to admit, I like muesli.

No, really!

Believe it or not, Sainsburys do a good one: as part of their Basics range.

It’s …

Quite nice.

I’ll tell you one thing, though.

They should maybe rebrand it as pipe-cleaner.

Mostly because it’s got two very good qualities.   It’s VERY high fibre.

And, BOY, but it makes you move … !

~≈Â≈~

But let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: and scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How ToLicense and video …

Q1) 30th August, 1836, saw the founding of the city of Houston.   The city is in which US state?
Q2) More to the point, is Houston the capital of that state?
Q3) Annise Parker currently holds which Houstonian political post?
Q4) The Houston Dynamo are what: a football team, a baseball team or an ice hockey team?
Q5) According to a 2009 report, Houstonians spent an average of 58 hours: stuck in what?

Q9) Which alphabetically last Texas blues band come from Houston?
Q10) Finally … Actor, Brent Spiner, is from Houston.   Who did he play in Star Trek: The Next Generation?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 29th August, 2005, saw the US Gulf coast hit by a hurricane.   Which Hurricane?
A1) Hurricane Katrina.
Q2) One years earlier, 29th August, 2004, saw who win his fifth consecutive Formula 1 Drivers Championship?

A3) His local Mafia.
Q4) The USS Nevada was decommissioned: on the 29th August, 1946.   Was the Nevada the second, third or fourth US Navy ship to bear that name?
A4) Second.
Q5) Finally … Police arrested a number or rock fans: at the Windsor Free Festival.   The date was 29th August of which year?
A5) 1974.
I’ll leave you with this clue …

And this thought …
“I grew up in Houston, and I remember we had separate drinking fountains, and black people sat in the balcony of the theater… We had an African-American housekeeper growing up who was really like my second mother.   I thought it was silly - hatred just because of the color of somebody’s skin.”

Houstonian, Dennis Quaid.
Have a good day …

*        Spot on, Debbi, five consecutive: 2000 to 2004.   (I thought it was a good one.   But I love today’s, and have, ever since I bought the album … !)

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
