The Daily Teaser — 17-11-2015

Right …

It’s Tuesday.

And I have a nice long day off.

Frankly … ?

I’m intent on doing what I usually do, with my time off.

Get busy doing things for the blog: videos, Teasers, what have you.

But, beyond that … ?

Well, frankly, I’m thinking I should put my feet up.

I don’t know about you, but, at work, I’m on them all day.

The idea of putting them up — or in a bowl of warm water — definitely appeals …

~≈Â≈~

But let’s get moving on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw both Debbi* and Olga† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How ToLicense and video …

Q1) Revolutionary Organization 17 November — known, more simply, as 17N — was a left-wing guerrilla group: in which European country?
Q2) 17th November, 1986, saw the assassination of Georges Besse: outside his Paris home.   Which French car company had he been head of?
Q3) 17th November, 2000, saw Alberto Fujimori removed from the Presidency.   Of where?
Q4) 17th November, 1925, saw the birth of actor, Rock Hudson.   In which year of the 1980s did he die of an AIDS related illness?
Q5) Finally … 17th November, 1901, saw the birth of actor/director and acting coach, Lee Strasberg.   His ‘Method Acting’ technique was based on a system originally created by whom?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 16th November, 1979, saw Anthony Blunt as the ‘Fourth Man’: the fourth member, in other words, of the notorious Cambridge Spy Ring.   Name one of the other three.
A1) Kim Philby, Guy Burgess and Donald Maclean.
Q2) 16th November, 1979, saw the opening of Line M1: the original line of the Bucharest Metro.   Bucharest is the capital of which European country?
A2) Romania.
Q3) 16th November, 1973, saw the launch of the third, manned, Skylab mission: known as Skylab 4.   How many astronauts were on the mission?
A3) Three: Gerald Carr, Edward Gibson and William Pogue.   (It’s marked as ‘3’ on the emblems, due to a mistake …)
Q4) Seven men were sentenced and gaoled: on 16th November, 1976: for their part in what was the the largest bank robbery in the UK’s history.   They robbed a UK branch of which bank?
A4) The Bank of America.
Q5) Finally … 16th November is Icelandic Language Day.   Does the Icelandic version of the Latin alphabet contain the letter ‘Z’?
A5) No: it was officially dropped in 1973.
I’ll leave you with this observation …
“The actor creates with his own flesh and blood all those things which all the arts try in some way to describe.”

Lee Strasberg, November 17, 1901 – February 17, 1982.
And some country …

Have a good day … !

*        You’re doing FINE, Debbi!

†        You’re right, Olga, about 1973, if I remember my reading.   (I have to admit, I was thinking, this morning, removing ‘Z’ from the English alphabet might be a good idea.   Then the word ‘zebra’ appeared … )

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
