The Daily Teaser — 19-3-2016

Hmmm …

I’m working, tonight: which is all good.

But I’m doing six thirty until the branch closes.

Something I’ve not done for a while.

Understandably, I think, I’m a little apprehensive.

Partly … ?   I don’t necessarily want to be seen as completely incapable.

But also … ?

I’m blowed if I can remember what to do … !

Oy heh … !

~≈Ÿ≈~

But let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Debbi* putting in her answers: scoring ten out of ten in the process.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) GRB 080319B was observed, on 19th March, 2008: briefly becoming the furthest object seen by a naked eye.   The Gamma Ray burst was roughly how far away: 5.5, 6.5 or 7.5 billion light years?
Q2) The ancient Roman festival of Quinquatria was celebrated on the 19th March.   The Festival celebrated which Goddess: Salacia, Minerva or Hecate?
Q3) Princess Margaret announced she and her husband were to separate: on 19th March, 1976.   Who was her (soon to be ex) husband?
Q4) Adolf Hitler ordered German infrastructure to be destroyed: on the 19th March, 1945.   This order became known as the what: Stalin Decree, Nero Decree or Holocaust Decree?
Q5) Finally … Four areas became overseas departments — or provinces — of France: on 19th March, 1946.   Name one of them.
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q10) Finally … The Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival is an annual festival to mark their memory.   It’s usually held in the third week of which month?
A10) July.
I’ll leave you with this thought …
“But what is the greatest evil? If you are going to epitomize evil, what is it? Is it the bomb? The greatest evil that one has to fight constantly, every minute of the day until one dies, is the worse part of oneself.”

Patrick McGoohan, 19 March 1928 – 13 January 2009.
And this tune …

Have a good day …

*        Oh, I will do, Debbi … as soon as I get five minutes … !   (Either way … ?   I’m looking forward to Penny Dreadful’s third series getting a release … FANTASTIC stuff.)

  1. Taking a break from doing my taxes to do the teaser. Like the McGoohan quote. Interesting. Speaking of the bomb, I just saw "Bridge of Spies". Great movie! :)

    1. 7.5 billion
    2. Minerva
    3. Antony Armstrong-Jones, 1st Earl of Snowdon
    4. Nero Decree
    5. Martinique, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, and Réunion

Finally finished watching "Genesis of the Daleks"! Wow! So how did Davros come back to life? I probably missed a key episode somewhere. :)

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.
