But, frankly … ? I’ve tears in my eyes, this morning.
I’ve woken, like many of us, to the news that Muhammad Ali — quite probably the greatest boxer ever born — has died.
Personally … ? I always thought of him as something of a childhood hero: a man of words who could back up those words with both beliefs and abilities.
I can remember seeing an interview with Ali: conducted by Michael Parkinson, in Ali’s later years.
At one point?
Ali seemed to fall asleep. Parky was understandably concerned, and was discreetly trying to catch the eye of one Ali’s family: to let them know the man was drowsing.
Until’s Ali — with the biggest grin you’ve seen — catch Parky’s eye … and said “I got ya … !”
Definitely the Greatest, even with rampaging Parkinson’s.
That mouth … ?
Got him in trouble over the years: but ALSO made perfectly plain his views. The BBC’s news channel has aired one 1960s interview with him, in the wake of his refusing the draft to join the army.
Making the very good point that he was someone who — in two fights — made enough tax money to pay for three bombers … and that the US wanted him to join the army … !

Right now? I’m thinking, as I have for many years, that the USA has only had two authentic heroes: at least in my lifetime.
One of those was Neil Armstrong: whose feat in landing on the moon are amazing.
The other hero … ?
Died today.
My thoughts, and condolences, go to Ali’s family.
They’ve lost a father and husband.
The rest of us? Have only lost a legend.
RIP Muhammad Ali.

I hadn't heard. They're going to do a catheterism although we don't know when yet. It seems the stenosis is in a very risky place and surgeons are not keen as it's quite dangerous to operate, so is catheterism and doing nothing is also risky. So no good options...
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
