I haver to admit, just recently, I’m getting intimations of mortality. Bits of me are aching somewhat more than than they did, ten years ago. And, of course, I’m very aware that I have less time on this Earth than — say — my seven year old nephew, Jude.
Just to top it off? Time seems to go faster than it did.
Morbid, huh … ?
On the upside … ?
The upside … ?
I’m starting to get a few messages in via Facebook and Twitter. Friends are contacting me. The gang at work managed to decorate my desk. And least one major present has already rolled in.
Intimations of mortality, yes …
Here and now?
Here and now, though, I’m happy to be alive …

Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† — back in action after a power cut — putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
And if you’re anywhere near Brentwood Chimichanga’s at one o’clock, today?
Look in and say hello … !
* Got to admit, I’ve always rented, Olga‡. But I’d imagine there’s a lot more paperwork involved in buying and selling! What’s happening for you is only proving that point. I can only imagine the overseas aspect’s adding to the complications! Actually … ? Did I mention I saw Mother Courage and her Children, there, many years ago? First time I’d seen Zoe Wanamaker in anything. (She played the daughter: Judi Dench played Mother Courage. There’s climactic scene with the daughter banging a drum to warn the locals about an approaching army that’s stuck in my mind, ever since.)
† The powers lines, Debbi‡? Ye gods! There’s been a few down in south-west England, I know that: you’d be right at home! At ANY rate … ? Welcome back … ! (Oh, if you, Rick and Olga are anywhere near Brentwood Chimichangas …)
‡ Oh, did I mention my main present was a new iMac? The speakers are fantastic. Just given Chris De Burgh’s Spanish Train. It’s theatrical, overblown … and I love it!
Have a fantastic birthday! I really enjoyed the quiz (not sure I got them all right but hey!) I guess if you're in the business of renting and selling you know all the requirements but if you're living in a place, it's not such a big deal until they start asking you for things you know nothing about... I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
