“The same kind of feeling pursues us in many other instances, but there is no place which recalls so strongly our recollections of childhood as Astley’s”.
Chapter 8, Astley’s: From Sketches By Boz, Charles Dickens.
* I HAVE to admit, I missed out on Charlie Chan, Debbi: the stories were never big, over here. I do know we got a lot more Fu Manchu, when I was growing up. They’re — arguably — even worse. And ALL of them, much like The Talons of Weng-Chiang, featured white actors in yellow-face. (Oh, I had to do some editing on today’s video: bet you can’t spot the join!)

The clearance of the house went faster than I expected (it's easier to throw everything away than going through things one by one, that's a fact) and now it's a matter of handing over the car tonight, the keys to the house tomorrow, and I'm off... Take care. The TV license people keep insisting I should renew it... Perhaps they should have guessed that after paying it by direct debit for 25 years there might be a reason why I have stopped it, but I know it's an automated thing.
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
