“I’ve seen a lot of women give up after they’ve had three or four bad gigs in a row. It’s very difficult to learn not to take nasty heckles personally.”
* It’s ALWAYS the way, Olga: sometimes, there’s too much content, and not enough time. Although, I’ve got the reverse problem: I have time … and not enough content … ! I’ll have to have a poke around! Hmmm … Actually, your mum might want to go the cheaper option. Getting a streaming box that plugs into the TV. (Mind you, some of the prices …!)
† Yeah, I saw the news that DefenseDistributed‡ had won their case, Debbi. OK, there might be free speech support for the idea of publishing those online. And I’m assuming that the group, themselves, will make damn sure anyone outside the US will be unable to pay the membership fees, and join up. Which theoretically rules out me — in the UK — downloading the kit. But with child pornography, and heroin, easy to get on the dark web? Jurisdiction isn’t going to stop anyone. (The screen grab’s a dark web drug sales site, taken on my machine: seconds ago. Buying the gun designs would be just as easy.)
‡ The group’s Wikipedia entry tells us that the plans they distribute can be made by anyone with a 3d printer … and a computer controlled milling machine. Those are expensive. But will get cheaper over time. The printer print the guns … and, I believe, the milling machines can make the bullets. Gunpowder should be easy to source or make, if you know how …
Q1) North America Q2) Argentina Q3) Greece Q4) Ottoman Q5) Cygnus I had a Fire Stick (I still have it but it does not work here in Spain. It seems here they use a more basic model, although I'm still hopeful they might upgrade at some point), but the TV is quite old and the image quality is not great now. She can watch content directly in her tablet already. Mind you, I read an article about the huge energy consumption involved in all the streaming of content and it is a reason for concern. I'm sure you'll find something to watch. Otherwise, there are always books...
I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?
I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.
Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.
Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.
Thank you.
* I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
† Your Facebook, X/Twitter, Blogger, Instagram, TikTok or LinkedIn profile are acceptable. I also like seeing folks webpages.
