You know, you are — possibly — aware it’s late … ish.
At least, for me it is.
I’m not as young as I was when I started writing this blog, all those years ago!
And, right at the moment … ?
I’m thinking I’ve got to go to bed.
I’m tired … and have a long weekend at work.
But … ?
Well, I had a day off, today.
In amongst the video making, laundering, chasing prescriptions, wiping surfaces, and whatever else needed doing today?
I thought a scary movie would be in order. As I was working, last night, catching a scary movie on Halloween night, itself, was out of the question.

Set in the small Maine town of Derry, It opens with brothers Bill and Georgie (Jaeden Lieberher and Jackson Robert Scott) building a paper boat for Georgie, the younger of the two, to play with.
Georgie almost immediately loses the boat down one of the town’s many storm drains …
Only to meet something wicked that lives there.
Meet …
And not return …
One year later, we find that Georgie is seen as missing … and Bill and his schoolfriends — Ben, Beverly, Richie, Mike, Eddie and Stan (Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sohia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Chosen Jacobs, Jack Dylan Grazer and Wyatt Oleff, respectively) — living their lives.
Very aware that their town seems to be having a rash of disappearances.
It’s only when Ben mentions the fact Derry has the highest rate of missing children …
That the gang realises someone — or something — has been in town a very long time …

Well …
I think, right now, I’ve seen a suitably scary first part: chapter two is due, next year.
I’m also thinking It is scary, not just for showing us the monstrous Pennywise, but also the monsters that share the family lives of friends in this film.
Shown how that affects them, and how they deal with the monster that is Pennywise.
They a wonderfully drawn group of characters, in a well told story, with good writing, effects and direction.
I just think It: Chapter One could possibly have been half an hour shorter … !
