Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 20th November, 2018

20th November, 2018.

Right …

I am having …

A problem.

Yes: you’ve guessed it …

My router’s re-setting itself … !

That’s a lovely thing to be waking up to!

Oh, just as a thought … ?

I managed to watch a film, last night.

Frankly?

I was feeling a little retro: and managed to catch the Hammer version of Quatermass and the Pit.

Interesting to watch, that one.

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with Olga scoring five out of five, and Debbi on four.

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) The Lusaka Protocol was signed: on 20th November, 1994.   It was the Ceasefire Agreement in which country’s civil war?
Q2) 170 people were taken hostage, on 20th November, 2015: in a hotel in Bamako.   Hotel, hostages and city, were in which African nation?
Q3) 20th November, 1978, saw which Liberal MP accused of being part of a murder plot?
Q4) One of the USSR’s most prolific serial killers was arrested: on 1990.   What was his name?
Q5) Finally … ?   20th November, 1750, saw the birth of Tipu Sultan.   The Sultan was ruler of which Indian state?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 19th November is International Mens Day.   When was it first marked: 1992, 1993 or 1994?
A1) 1992.
Q2) What name is given to the study of men’s health?
A2) Andrology.
Q3) What — in the UK — is the biggest killer of men under 45?
A3) Suicide.
Q4) Women have œstrogen: men have …
Q5) Finally … ?   Cryptorchidism means a man has one or less what … ?
A5) Testicles‡.
Here’s a thought …
“To live like a lion for a day is far better than to live for a hundred years like a jackal.”
Tipu Sultan, 20 November 1750 – 4 May 1799.
And a song …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        Now that must be something to watch, Olga!   Beats Cash in the Attic!   At ANY rate … ?   I’ve an interview, tomorrow: here’s hoping … (I’ll have to ask if the job offers help with the commenting costs.   I should be able to get some from the job centre, but still …)

†        You’ve got my sympathies, there, Debbi!   I know one chap who’s only ever released a couple of books: ones that have a cult following.   He’s got problems with bootlegs copies on Amazon … (Urology involves … well … not studying men in particular …)

‡        Does anyone want to mention Colonel Bogey at this point?

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.

*   I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
