Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 17th December, 2018.

17th December, 2018.

Yep: I’ve spotted a thing.

One that’s a wossname for do-dah!

In other words?

I’ve been mulling over being able to do basic green screen work with iMovie: where you record a scene in front of a green or blue screen, then replace the green/blue bits.

I’ve spotted the ideal thing for it, too: an office partition that’s being sold on Amazon.

And wouldn’t you know it … ?

I’m skint!

If any offices in Brentwood have got something similar they want getting rid of?

For minimal cash?

I’d happily give it a home … !

Let’s move on, shall we?

Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga* and Debbi† putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.   The day also saw Olga mentioning this article, and Debbi reminding us about Great Aunt Nellie!

Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?

Here they are, along with the How To, License and video …

Q1) According to recent reports, 17th December, 2018 will see Tumblr ban what from its site: pornographic content, music or video?
Q2) 17th December, 1983, saw a bomb go off, at Harrods, in Knightsbridge.   The bomb had been set by whom: ETA, the IRA or the Red Army Faction?
Q3) The US Civil Rights Congress delivered its We Charge Genocide paper on 17th December, 1951.   Delivered to whom?
Q4) Ugyen Wangchuck was crowned on 17th December, 1907.   As the first king of where?
Q5) A large Aztec sculpture was found: on 17th December, 1790.   The sculpture was a circular Aztec what?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …

Q1) 16th December saw the birth of the late Noël Coward.   In which year?
A1) 1899.
Q2) He received an Academy Honorary Award: for which 1942 film?
Q3) Nicky and David Lancaster, and Bunty Mainwaring, appear in which of Coward’s plays?
Q4) According to one Coward penned tune?   Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the … what?
Q5) Finally … ?   Coward played Mr Bridger: in which Michael Caine film?
Here’s a thought …
“I’ve already given you the answer on this subject, I have told you that I pay whatever tax I am required to pay under the law, not a penny more, not a penny less, and the suggestion that I am trying to evade tax, which is what you're putting forward, I find highly offensive and I don’t intend to cooperate with you in the blackening of my character.”
Kerry Packer, 17 December 1937 – 26 December 2005.
And, as it’s Dave Dee’s birthday, some music …

Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Have a good day.

*        You’re right, it was a bit long, Olga: but it makes a very good point.   Making do without the big tech companies is a tough call!   I keep hearing them referred to as FAAMG: it’s an acronym for Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft and Google!   (You right, something non-Xmassy is nice.   Though I get the feeling Jude, my nephew, would like any video game that makes a lot of noise.   Mind you, he was hooked on a golf game on my Apple TV, last night … )

†        My pleasure, Debbi: with the amount of time you put in on Nik Nak’s Old Peculiar, it only seems fair!   Now … about The Babadook … ?   You know the book the mother reads to her son, near the start of the film?   Where did the book come from!!!!!!!!!!!   I’ve got a feeling it’s home made …

I've noticed that even the overthetop ugly jumpers have made it here... At least there's no Christmas pudding here!(I apologise if you love it, but I always felt I had achieved something if I managed not to have to eat it...). Not that I'm that fond of the heavy stuff here, although at least there's a bit more variety in turrones...

I love it when someone comments. But, having had anonymous comments I feel may be libellous, actionable or just plain offensive, over the years?

I’d appreciate you* leaving your name — with a link to your website or social-media profile†, for preference — before you post a comment.

Should you choose to use a pseudonym/name, I’d appreciate it if that name were to be polite and inoffensive. I’d rather you kept it clean, and relatively grown up. Comments left with a pseudonym will be posted at my discretion: I really prefer a link.

Contentious, actionable or abusive posts left anonymously will not be posted. Nor will comments using offensive pseudonyms or language, or that are abusive of other commenters.

Thank you.

*   I know many value their online privacy. I respect that. But hope you respect my wish to see who’s commenting on my blog: and my wish for you to introduce your self to me, and to your fellow commentors.
