16th December, 2018.
Yep: it’s officially official.
I know know a little bit more about … compositing … !
Basically?
It’s a film technique.
Someone will get filmed in front of a blue or green screen.
Then, in post production?
The blue (or green) colour would be removed … and replaced with something else.
Moving background, image, what have you …
Frankly?
It looks interesting … if I could do it.
Then, yesterday … ? I watched this video …
And thought, “Oh, I’ll have to look that up.”
Then … ?
I thought about just simply double checking the Help pages for
iMovie
… and found that it’s something I can do in iMovie
.
That’s handy to know: assuming I can get some spare bedsheets, an upright frame … and a lot of green dye.
All this …
When you’ve just watched Tron, and want to write about it …

Let’s move on, shall we?
Yesterday’s Teaser saw Olga*‡ and Debbi†‡ putting in their answers: with both scoring five out of five.
Let’s see how everyone does with today’s questions, shall we?
Q1) 16th December saw the birth of the late Noël Coward. In which year?
Q2) He received an Academy Honorary Award: for which 1942 film?
Q3) Nicky and David Lancaster, and Bunty Mainwaring, appear in which of Coward’s plays?
Q4) According to one Coward penned tune? Mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the … what?
Q5) Finally … ? Coward played Mr Bridger: in which Michael Caine film?
Here’s yesterday’s questions and answers …
Q1) 15th December, 2013, saw the death of evangelist And broadcaster, Harold Camping. He — famously — predicted the return of Jesus Christ: in which yeah of the 21st Century?A1) 2011.
Q2) 15th December, 2010, saw the death of director, Blake Edwards. Which of his films stars David Niven as jewel thief, Sir Charles Lytton?A2) The Pink Panther.
Q3) 15th December is Homecoming Day: on which of the Channel Islands?A3) Alderney.
Q4) 15th December is International Tea Day. Teapots made of Yixing clay are used for what kind of tea: black, green or oolong?
Q5) Finally … which tourist attraction re-opened: on 15th December, 2001?A5) The Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Here’s a thought …
“Television is for appearing on, not looking at.”Noël Coward.
And some music …
Today’s questions will be answered in tomorrow’s Teaser.
Have a good day.
* You know, I’m seriously going to have to sit down with that book, Olga, I really am! And with Debbi’s most recent! And Fury Road’s a cracker, isn’t it? Charlise Theron stole the show! She did the same in The Devil’s Advocate!
† I’ll have to keep an eye open for that, Debbi! Oh … have you got an old bedsheet? I’ve THINK I’ve found a solution for the bleed-over issue in
Photo Booth
: it seems we can do green screen in iMovie
. (Betcha it’s in Final Cut
, too.)

Thanks so much for your kind words, Paul. I think both would make excellent Xmas gifts (I prefer non-Xmassy Xmas gifts myself).
I was reading this article this morning and thought of you. It is very long but I know they are bits of it you'll appreciate and others you won't but...
