I’ve woken up, this morning, craving chocolate!

Why?

I have no idea.

But if I knew that, I’d probably be rich!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 14-5-2025 — The Warsaw Pact

14th May, 2025: the Warsaw Pact.

Peter Sullivan was released from prison, yesterday.

He’d spent thirty-eight years inside: after being wrongly convicted of the murder of Dianne Sindall.

My sympathies go to Ms Sindall’s family: as this means her killer has not been found.

My sympathies are also with Mr Sullivan.

Getting out of prison after that length of time, into a world that’s changed so radically from the one he knew when sentenced … is going to be strange … 

Personally?

I think compensation is due to Peter Sullivan: as should be paid as soon as possible.

And that government — of whatever stripe — should work to make sure mistakes like this don’t happen again.

A few weeks ago, I put in for extra financial help: from a fund run by Southend Council.

They’ve run a scheme that hands out pre-paid debit cards for some years.

I’ve now, thankfully, had the letter that tells me I’ve been granted one: and how much cash will be on it.

I’ve had the letter … but not the card, and its associated PIN number.

The sooner that gets here, the better!

14th May, 2023: Israel.

Right … it’s official.

Eurovision is now over for another year: and Sweden have won.

The competition will probably be in Oslo, next year.

Just in time for the thirty-fifth anniversary of Abba’s Eurovision win.

Not that I’m suspicious … but that’s one HELL of a co-incidence … … … … …

One thing I DO know … ?

Is that the completion opened with a trailer: for the upcoming Dr Who specials, in the autumn.

We know know these will air in the autumn, and their titles;

1. The Star Beast.
2. Wild Blue Yonder.
3. The Giggle.

Personally?

I’m looking forward to them: especially as The Star Beast is a reworked version of an old tale!

Yes: it’s Saturday: Tiswas Day, if you’re of a certain age.

And frankly?

Beyond heading heading out to pick up a prescription?

I’m expecting it to be quiet.

We’ll have to see.

I do know I had an equally quiet day, yesterday.

But DID manage to occupy some of my time … by using their computers for a bit.

They’re slowly being re-introduced, post COVID.

The one thing that DID catch my attention?

Was that — whoever had set the things up — had put a ‘Mouse Controls’ alias on the desktop.

One that allows users to set the mouse up for left or right handed use.

That’s a great move.

Anything that makes life easier for left handers like me— like being able to change settings from right to left — is welcome!

Yes: I went to Romford, yesterday.

To sell on a box-set, if you’re curious.

In the rain … !

Which was fun.

That means, though … ?

I can do a little light shopping, today.

In the possible rain …

One thing I know I stupidly did … ?

Was click a link.

I got a text message, yesterday: telling me I missed a delivery, and that I could click a link to talk to the driver.

It immediately ran this phone number: 0902 391 9072.

Which the information on my phone initially told me was in Lithuania.

That call ate half of my remaining credit: as I let the phone ring a few times, before realising everything I’d recently ordered had been delivered.

As you can imagine … ?   I’m mildly kicking myself.

I posted a screen shot to Instagram, to try and alert people to it.

And have reported it to the 7726 text messaging service that phone companies have set up to combat these things.

Here’s hoping that helps.

It’s got to be said, the UK is partly easing life under lockdown.

You can now visit one friend, in a park … if you’re standing two metres apart.

Going on that, I think easing the thing’s going to take a long time!

I was watching the second episode of Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, last night.

Which is looking on a par with the original series, it has to be said!

As good as it’s looking … ?

I was up ’til half one, doing the video … !

Turns out it was the bin-men: the chaps emptying my buildings bins.

At least, it was one set of bin men.

I can only hope they were getting the recycling: it’s getting full … !

I’ve officially caught another episode — another two episodes, in fact — for the fifth season of American Horror Story.

The one known as Hotel.

It’s looking rather good: although given how many nights I’ve worked?   It’s gone a little more slowly than I’d’ve like.

The Daily Teaser — 14-5-2016

Right … 

That seemed to help, yesterday.

Recently, as you’re no doubt aware, I’ve been getting a seriously nasty set of stomach cramps.

That, seemingly, wasn’t shifting.

Yesterday, though, at work?

I managed to take in the Buscopan I’d been prescribed.   As well as having a sandwich for dinner, instead of the usual chicken, and drinking LOTS of water.

I think I can say I managed.

Right now … ?

All I’ve got on my mind … 

Is the earworm left to me by a friend on Facebook …
