It’s officially Saturday … !

Which means Saturday things are happening.

Obviously.

One thing I do know is happening … ?

Is simply this.

It’s rained overnight.

Which is nice.

But … ?

It’s not exactly cooled things down …

I’m not especially a gamer: even though I’ll happily admit to finally finishing the original Sonic the Hedgehog, a few days ago.

That aside, I’m not a gamer.

But noticed this article from the BBC.

One that tells us Rock Star Games latest release, Grand Theft Auto 6, is to be digital only.

At least, not released on a physical disc.

With streamed movies being more common?

That’s not surprising.

But … ?

For those of us who value physical ownership of media — and the ability to watch to play something, even if the online version has been taken down — that’s going to be a blow.

Hmmm … 

I’m sure you know that the government of the UK had planned to make big adjustments to various welfare benefits.

Mostly to the health sections of Universal Credit, and to Personal Independence Payment.

But were facing a backbench rebellion in next week’s planned vote on the bill.

However?

Those rebels have mostly climbed down: after the government made concessions.

Hopefully?

That means thousands of people will be unaffected.

I usually keep an eye open for news about Dr Who: and am very aware that Disney’s deal with the BBC — that has funded the past couple of seasons — hasn’t been renewed.

But — with thanks to the Tharries channel, along side one or two news pieces — also aware that, apparently, two unnamed, big, streaming services are supposed to be bidding for the rights.

Supposedly, those streamers are HBO Max, and Netflix.

And, supposedly?

At least one of the streamers wants the show to go in a darker direction: something showrunner, Russell T. Davies, doesn’t want: he’d prefer a lighter tone.

Personally?

I’d prefer a darker tone, myself: I grew up on Tom Baker’s scary early years.

If the show isn’t causing nightmares, it’s doing something wrong!

But?

Would be grateful to see the show being aired.

We’ll have to see, won’t we?

Right then … it’s Thursday!

And … ?

I managed to have my most recent meeting with my Job Centre case worker, yesterday morning: by phone, thankfully.

I don’t know if I’ll end up getting the job she suggested I apply for — in Pitsea — but it’s the first I’ve seen in a while.

It’s election year in the UK.

The things a week away, so you know.

I thought I’d give you a few thoughts from earlier this years: about spoiling my vote.

Ladies And gentlemen … I have an official issue!

Yes: my washing machine has broken down!

Or, at least, isn’t switching on.

Which is awkward.

I’ve changed the fuse on the wall switch: 

I’m planning on heading into the shop where I got it, today.

Hopefully?

I’ll still be under warranty, and can get the thing repaired.

If not … ?

I can only hope I win the lottery: or can get an emergency loan from the Benefits office.

Yep: stuff … I’m thinking of doing stuff!

But you’d possibly guessed that, hadn’t you … ?

You know perfectly well that — if I’m using the intro video to tell you I’m going to do stuff? — it’s going to be a quiet day.

One that’s possibly going to involve washing: in the shiny new washing machine.

And marvelling at the fact it’s fast, and quiet … !

Oh, and makes a beeping noise that gets me think of some of the sound effects in The Silurians.

If I ever get the chance, I’ll try and dig that up!

When I asked how to return it, the people that sold it to me, told me to keep it.

Quite what I’m supposed to do with a puzzle that looks that fiddly, I don’t know!

Yes: it’s true … 

My kitchen sink decided to misbehave, last night.

It’s … well, it’s the second time it’s happened: and, last time … ?

The plumber told me it wasn’t an issue with the sink: but more than probably with the drains, and that he would put in for a drain cleaning.

Whether that’s happened?

I don’t know.

All I can tell you is that, last night, my sink was giving the Radiophonic Workshop a run for the money …

Hmmm … 

Interesting to hear.

Apparently?

Nintendo are to release — or re-release, more accurately — a version of their Super Nintendo Entertainment System, or SNES at some point.

Sounds good: although I was never a fan.

But it does tell me something.

Retro’s getting popular.

After all it follows Nintendo’s re-release of their NES, the various updated iterations of the ZX Spectrum, and Sega’s re-release of various MegaDrive titles.

Times like this?

I’m saddened that money is tight: some of those retro consoles look good.

Right … 

I’ve a few days off, right now.

Which means I can … 

Well, do several things, actually.

I’m thinking shopping’s the thing: but more likely?

I’d like some more sleep!

But … ?   The Teasers call: both Daily and Weekly.

And, frankly?   I’m a touch low on funds: but have enough iTunes credit — and unwatched, backed up stuff — to make watching a film a serious option.

I’m just wondering is I should dig up Event Horizon.   I don’t care if the critics don’t like it: I fell in love with the thing, the minute I saw it!
