The War Between the Land and the Sea — Episode 5 — “The End of the War” — A Review

20th December, 2025: “The End of the War”.
An Introduction.

Right …

It’s officially Saturday.

Which means I’m writing this the day before Sunday, 21st December, 2025, and the day before the last episode of The War Between the Land and the Sea.

Something I’ve been watching — and reviewing — ever since the most recent member of the Whoniverse franchise started.

Given that the BBC has broadcast two episodes a night, over the past two weeks?

I’ve had my work cut out for me.

But?

I’ve been looking forward to Christmas — this coming Thursday — and the final episode.

That final episode, “The End of the War”, airs tomorrow: and, frankly?

I’m looking forward to it.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Series 3 Episode 5 — “Through the Lens of Time” — A Review

*Spoilers.*

7th August, 2025: “Through the Lens of Time”.
The Intro.

Gosh … but it’s early on a Thursday!

Actually, that’s something of a lie.

As I write this?

It’s a Thursday afternoon: and Numan’s The Pleasure Principle is on in the background.

Because … ?

The BBC’s news channel is boring me, and YouTube … ?

Has a lot I’d like to watch, but will find distracting while I’m writing.

So … ?

Getting an early start on a review of a new episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds … ?

Seems like a good idea …

I’ll be watching “Through the Lens of Time” — the episode in question — tonight.

And should have my written and video reviews up, by Sunday, 10th August.

Hopefully?

You’ll be glued to them!

Doctor Who — Series 15/Season 2 - Episode 5 — “The Story & the Engine” — A Review

9th May, 2025: “The Story & the Engine”.

Right then … it’s Friday and I’m starting a review, early!

And a copy of classic Dr Who story, The Claws of Axos playing the background.

Just to get myself into the mood to watch the next episode of the new series, tomorrow.

By the time you read this, or watch the video version … ?

It’ll hopefully be Sunday, 11th May,

I’ll see you then … !

Doctor Who — Series 14-Season 1 - Episode 5 — “Dot and Bubble” — A Review

1st June, 2024: the introduction.

Yay!

It’s Saturday!

Which means that … well …

Frankly?

I’m going to be hitting iPlayer as soon as I’m done writing this intro.

After all?

Today sees the released of “Dot and Bubble”, the latest episode of Doctor Who: and I’d like to watch it in daylight!

I’ll — hopefully — have my review up, by tomorrow.

Star Trek Discovery — Series 5 Episode 5 — “Mirrors” — A Review

25th April, 2024: an introduction.

Right …

It’s official.

It’s Discovery night!

OK, alright.

It’s Thurday.

Which means …

Yes: I am going to be watching the next episode of Star Trek Discovery.

Once I’ve had dinner!

I’ve got just one question.

Why on Earth didn’t I but some sliced cheese, when I got the chance?

For All Mankind — Series 4 Episode 5 — “Goldilocks” — A Review

11th December, 2023: an introduction and announcement.

Right …

I’m writing this — as I always do — on a Monday evening: as potatoes are boiling.

And now in the oven.

Yep: I’m making my own chips.

At any rate … ?

I’m doing dinner.

And, once that — and tonight’s I’m Sorry, I Haven’t A Clue listened to — I’ll be watching “Goldilocks”, the next episode of For All Mankind’s fourth series.

I’ll have my written and video reviews up, tomorrow night!

I’ll see you then …

Good Omens Series 2 Episode 5 — “The Ball” — A Review

22nd September, 2023: The Intro.

It’s Friday: and … ?

I officially live in a ground floor flat.

And have just seen three — count them, three — whole police vans go past.

Police Technical Support vans, so you know.

Quite what’s happening at the other ens of my street?

I think I’d rather not know!

~≈👼🏻≈~

At any rate … ?

It’s Friday night.

Which means?

Well, as ever, it’s fish and chips for dinner!

Next … ?

I’ll be watching the next episode of Good Omens: then telling you about it, tomorrow.

Assuming we’ve not been arrested.

Star Trek Strange New Worlds Episode 5 — “Charades” — A Review

14th July, 2023: an Introduction.

Wouldn’t you know it?

It’s Friday … again!

Which means, yes;

I’m cremating fish and chips.

The weather’s completely different from what it was.

And an old friend has posted a video …

At any rate … ?

I’ll be watching that video whilst I eat: then watching “Charades”, the next episode of Star Trek Strange New Worlds, once I’m done with that!

I’ll let you know about “Charades”, tomorrow!

The Mandalorian — Series 3 Episode 5 — Chapter 21 The Pirate — A Review

26th June, 2023: “The Pirate”.

It’s got to be said: Monday’s can be exciting.

Really!

At least they could be, if they really wanted to be!

You can tell I’m boiling vegetables, can’t you … ?

Yes: it’s Monday, and I’m doing dinner.

Once I’ve had that?

I’ll be watching the next episode of The Mandalorian: and posting my reviews, tomorrow.

The episode’s about pirates: which can only make Monday’s more interesting.

Star Trek Picard — Series 3 Episode 5 — Imposters — A Review

17th March, 2023: ‘Imposters’.

*Spoilers*

Right … it’s Friday … and … ?

I’m getting nearer to eating dinner.

But nowhere nearer the reason we’re supposed to eat fish and chips on a Friday.

Beyond the idea that a bishop told us too.

Or … that we fancy a walk to the chippy.

I know I do: but I’m having home made, thank you.

I couldn’t afford a take out, unless you paid me.

The tip jar’s on the right, if you’re feeling generous!

At any rate … ?

It’s Friday.

And, once I’ve had dinner?

I’ll be watching the next episode of Star Trek Picard … then telling you what I thought about it, tomorrow night.

For All Mankind — Series 3 Episode 5 — Seven Minutes of Terror — A Review

5th March, 2023: ‘Seven Minutes of Terror’.

Yes: it’s Sunday night.

And, for once?

I’m having dinner at home: rather than with my family.

To be fair?

They DID take me out for dinner, last night!

Well, it was my birthday, yesterday.

At any rate … ?

It’s Sunday.

Which means I’ll be having something to eat.

Then …

Watching the next episode of For All Mankind, series three.

Given how good ‘Happy Valley’ was?

I have high expectations of ‘Seven Minutes of Terror’.

Doctor Who — The Abominable Snowmen — Episode 5 — A Review

5th December, 2022: Episode 5.

Right … It’s Monday, again.

As anyone who read today’s Teaser will realise.

They will possibly also realise it’s Little Richard’s birthday.

Which is possibly an excuse for a song … !

I’ve just seen the lyrics, by the way.

I always wondered where William Gibson got the name of the brothel in Burning Chrome.

At any rate … ?

That’s going slightly sideways.

It’s Monday.

And … ?

Dinner’s cooking.

Stew, baked spud … and maybe some vegetables.

Once that’s done?

I’ll be watching episode five of … The Abominable Snowmen.

Star Trek Strange New Worlds — Episode 5 — Spock Amok — A Review

21st October, 2022.

Right, than … it’s Friday.

And … ?

I’ll be brutally frank, I’m looking forward to fish and chips.

It’s Friday: and why we’re supposed to eat them?

I couldn’t tell you.

Just that it’s something I’ve done for some time.

Something else I’ve been doing … ?

Is watching TV.

The past few weeks has seen me watching the first series of Star Trek Strange New Worlds.   Then posting my review, the following night.

I’ll be doing that with the fifth episode of the series: Spock Amok.

Given most Star Trek fans will be able to tell you exactly when the LAST time the word ‘Amok’ turned up in a Star Trek title?

I’m betting I know where it’s (partially) going to be set.

Star Trek Picard — Series 2 Episode 5 — Fly Me to the Moon — A Review

22nd July, 2022.

Today is one of those rare things.

Where?   Frankly, I can actually afford a takeaway.

As a result of both getting paid: and having a little left over from the Cost of Living Payment, earlier this week.

I think fish and chips would be in order, frankly.

So no actual change, there!

There’s no actual change in what else I’ll be doing, either.

I’ll be doing what I usually do: over the last few Tuesdays and Fridays.

Yes: I’ll be watching a TV show.

Tonight sees me watching episode five of Star Trek Picard’s second season, Fly My To The Moon.

I’ll have my written and video review up, by tomorrow night.

I’ll see you then!

Star Trek Discovery — Series 4 Episode 5 — The Examples — A Review

22nd April, 2022.

Right at the moment … ?

I’m doing two things.

Dinner: fish and chips, again.

And, much as I’d like to have more than peas with it?

I won’t, until tomorrow: when I go shopping!

That’s one thing.

The other thing … ?

I’ve started this post on a Friday: and watching The Examples: the fifth episode of Star Trek: Discovery’s fourth season, and letting you know what I thought, by tomorrow, at the latest.

Doctor Who — The Evil of the Daleks: Episode 5 — A Review

7th January, 2022.

Right …

It’s a Friday evening: and I’m looking forward to two things.

Dinner: fish and home made chips, if you must know.

And another episode of classic Doctor Who serial, The Evil of The Daleks.

Episode 5 if you must know.

I’ll be back to finish this written review, later.

Doctor Who — Flux Series 13: Chapter 5 — Survivors of the Flux — A Review

28th November 2021

Right …

I’m start thing post early: in the run-up to tonight’s episode of Doctor Who.

Hopefully?

I’ll be able to finish this post, along side its video equivalent, late tonight.

For now?

I’m going to wander over to the TV, get myself comfortable: whilst Countryfile tells me about wattle and daub houses.

Back in a bit.

Lovecraft Country — Series 1 Episode 5 — Strange Case: A Review

5th October, 2021.

Right … at the moment … I’ve just seen episode five of Lovecraft Country: and will be telling you more tomorrow night.

In writing this intro … ?

I’m doing my usual thing.

Partly … ?

Staking to the territory: and reminding myself I’ve written some notes on the episode.

But also to reming myself I’ve a long day, ahead, tomorrow!

I’ve a phone interview, after all!

For All Mankind — Series 2 Episode 5 — The Weight — A Review

4th May, 2021.

It’s got to be said: Tuesday night TV is getting to be a tradition.

For me, at any rate.

I job hunt in the morning, I do whatever else needs doing, then I have dinner.

Chicken stew, if you’re asking.   And a baked spud.

The stew’s not bad: but needs work, I think.   Or more carrots.

Or different stock, possibly.

Maybe some bacon.

At any rate: once I get dinner eaten, I’m ready to watch another episode of whatever series I’m following.

In this case?   Episode five of the second series of For All Mankind.

I’ll tell you more about it, tomorrow night.

Assuming I can make sense of my notes, that is!

The Mandalorian — Series 2 Episode 5 — Chapter 13 The Jedi — A Review

6th March, 2021.

Yes: it’s another Saturday night.

Where I don’t especially want to get to bed late … but, having watched the next episode of series two of The Mandalorian?

Wanted to get started on my review of the thing.

There’s possibly a couple of other things to mention, though.

The episode itself definitely seems to have been designed by someone who like murky, muddy … and Japanese …

And dinner … ?

Was a rather good home made goulash: if I do say so, myself!

At any rate … ?

I’m going to hit the sack: I’ll be back, tomorrow.
