15th August, 2025: the Republic of the Congo.

I’m on drugs.

Or medications, I should say.

Including one called Mounjaro: it’s useful for controlling type two diabetes, and as a way of controlling my weight.

So … ?

I noticed this BBC News piece float past, this morning: telling us Eli Lilly, the drug’s makers, ar planning on putting the price up.

As far as I can tell, that won’t affect its cost to the National Health Service, nor to those of us who get it free on the NHS.

It will go up for those who’ve had the drug prescribed privately.

Will that affect the drug’s availability for NHS patients?

I don’t know.

But having switched medications, before, because of a shortage … ?

I’m not convinced …

It’s officially official: it’s Thursday.

Which, hopefully, means I’m Jude sitting, today.

And … ?

Rather pleased about a minor — very minor — hack I’ve discovered.

It turns out if you press the relevant button on the game controller for my Apple TV, you can record the screen.

Or, at least, record Sonic the Hedgehog 1.

But it could come in handy, somewhere*!

15th August, 2023: Liechtenstein.

Ouch!

I hate how my shoes fail, when I need them not to!

I caught my foot on the pavement on Warley Hill, coming home, yesterday.

With the net result … ?   That I ended up falling, face first, onto the pavement.

With a bag of shopping on my back!

Ouch!

I’m OK: bar a few aches and pains … and a very nasty scab … !

Oh … I’ve had a call from my GP’s social prescriber, yesterday.

Literally minutes after going arse over tit!

And managed to get her to phone back … on my landline.

It seems I may qualify from help from a charity called Peabody.

They’ve two drop in services organised at local churches: yesterday and today.

Neither of which are easy to get to.

And an appointment only meeting, at Brentwood Town Hall, tomorrow.

I’ve phoned for one, had the initial call … but not yet had a call back with an appointment.

We’ll have to see.

Yes: it’s Monday.

And, when I looked out of my window, this morning?

It looked like it had rained, however mildly, over night.

It’s supposed to be raining, again, later today.

I hope it does: we could do with it.

It’s fun, very dry: and the setting is a complete 180° switch on The Vicar of Dibley.

I caught an episode, yesterday: where Tom Hollander — who plays the title character, Reverend Adam Smallbone — has to sign something … 

He’s left-handed.

And this is something I noticed, yesterday.

Yesterday!

The day after Lefthander’s Day.

It’s got to be said, I’m a man with time on his hand.

You’ve possibly guessed, haven’t you?

Pointless brain Teasers don’t happen by themselves, after all.

Neither do any other videos I make!

At any rate: I’ve time to watch the odd movie.

And had a choice of three, tonight: Censor, In The Earth … or Black Widow.

I went — as you’ve possibly guessed — for Black Widow.

I’ll tell you more, when I finish this post, tomorrow night.

But I think I’ve made an ungood* choice.

I’ll be honest: I saw Black Widow, last night.

And I’m in the process of writing the review of it.

It, and the video version, be published, tonight.

But I have to admit, I got stuck for a word.

Bad?   Duff?   Ropey?

None of them seemed to fit.

I’ve settled — for now — on the Newspeak word, ungood.

It seems to work, for me.

Today is my last ‘free’ day before I go back to work, tomorrow.

I’ve got to be up seriously early: as I’ve got a seriously early start, tomorrow.

I’ve got mixed feelings about that.

Yes, it’s nice to be back at work … 

But yes … I’m having mixed feelings about it.

It’s a hell of a long walk, for a start … !

I’m back at work, today.

Wouldn’t you know it.

And have another day off, tomorrow.

Frankly?

I’m grateful for that time off.

Although thinking — when I put in for it — I should maybe have asked for a pay-rise, as well.

Ha!

I should be so lucky … !

At any rate, another day off, tomorrow?

Means I can watch another episode of Westworld, tomorrow.

That’s something to look forward to.

Now, I wonder who that was … ?

I had the night off, last night.

Which is nice: I managed to catch the last two episodes of season 1 of The Man in the High Castle.

Which is quite the series, I think I can say.

At any rate?

At about nine?   Just when I was starting to watch episode 10?

The phone went off: which I initially ignored.

It kept ringing … 

I kept ignoring it: after all, I’ve had too many missed calls from people selling me solar panels!

When I finally decided to head over to the phone, to pick it up and SEE who it was?

They rang off.

After making sure they phoned me, from their withheld phoned number.

I get the feeling they’re shy, whoever they were …

You know, I’m no fan of the Olympics.

But?

But it is nice to know that the UK’s Olympic Team is doing well.

We’re second in the medals table: tied with China, and just behind the US.

Personally, though?

Personally, I had last night off.

And found Robot Wars far more entertaining: ESPECIALLY when Apollo flipped the house robots.

Who the hell expected that!!
