It’s Monday morning.

And, of course, I’m up early: to get to my weight management meeting.

Hopefully?

I will have lost some weight.

I was under one hundred kilos, last week: so it would be nice if I’ve lost more, this week.

Here’s hoping.

Something I know … ?

Is that one of my X followers is always happy to tell me what the weather’s like in her part of the world: including when she’s got fog.

I’m mildly jealous, as we’ve not had fog, here, for a couple of years.

Until this morning, that is.

I know it’s chilly out … but I always think the fog makes my street look romantic … !

It seems that the people of Switzerland have had a referendum on digital ID.

And … ?

Narrowly voted in favour of their government’s proposed scheme.

Well done, them.

They’ve voted for a digital ID scheme that’s voluntary: unlike the scheme proposed by Sir Keir Starmer.

If someone could point out that a voluntary ID scheme seems popular, that could be a big hint for the PM.

Make the scheme voluntary, Sir Keir: you’ll have less problems getting it through the House of Commons …

I’ve officially made the phone call: and got a repair visit arranged for Monday.

It’s Tuesday … !

Which basically means I’ll be looking after my nephew, this afternoon.

Which should be fun.

I also know something else: yesterday was the day the lady who lived upstairs, moved out.

Granted, we had a rocky time of it, at times.

Especially when her youngest boy had a full sized trampoline!

But … ?

She, and her family, moved out, yesterday: to a council bungalow, ’round the corner.

I’ll miss them, I know her kids will have a garden to enjoy: but wonder who we’ll get next.

There’s a whole batch of possibilities.

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 29-9-2022: World Heart Day

29th September, 2022.

I’ve officially got bad news … and good news: and possibly a joke.

Possibly.

I had a podiatrists appointment, yesterday: to see if I qualify for routine podiatric check-ups.

The bad news?

I don’t qualify for the regular check-ups.

The good news?

I don’t qualify for regular check-ups … because my feet are too healthy!

The part that struck me as funny?

Was that the podiatrist who did the exam used a tuning fork — a full on musician’s tuning fork, in C — to check my feet.

If a patient can feel when it’s vibrating, and not vibrating?

It means the nerves in the feet are working.

My nerves are.

When I got home, though, I realised I missed a fantastic opportunity to ask if my feet were flat.

Flat, get it?   Flat … ?

Never mind!

You’ve heard of earworms, haven’t you … ?   Songs that — for whatever reason — start playing their way through you head.

I’ve had a few, over the years.

Now … I know an earworm is a song … but what on Earth do you call the textual equivalent?

A word, phrase or title, that does the same thing?

I have no idea.

But … ?

I’ve got the name of Britain’s worst movie in my head, waving at me.

Sex Lives of the Potato Men.

Why?

Why?

I have no idea!

But the phrase ‘Sex Lives of the Potato Men’ has been sitting in my head all morning: and I really have no idea why!

I had an interview arranged for Friday, 8th October.

Which got cancelled, yesterday.

Apparently, the store ‘no longer required the role.’

I got awakened, this morning, at just after 4 o’clock.

Which is when my mysterious visitor decided to move on.

After swearing at me a lot.

Frankly, after all that … ?

I’m knackered: and going to bed.

But wanted to get started on this review: of what I’ve seen on TV, tonight.

Yes: I’ve seen episode two of Watchmen …

This is getting silly … 

I have a chap asleep on my doorstep!

And yes: he’s still here, at what’s now eight in the morning!

He seems pleasant enough: and is going to be moving on: “… in a minute.”

He’s been there since four in the morning.

I minute is taking a long time …

I notice there‘s news.   There’s always news.

However?   It seems the Government is planning to offer fully funded a-levels from April.

To help those of us without a job, find one.

I might just have to think about that.

Assuming I get — say — an O-level, or GCSE, in a helpful subject, first.

It’s something to think about.

It’s got to be said, I had a late night, last night.

Well … late ish … !

I caught a movie, if you must know: The Curse Of La Llorona, is you’re interested.

Granted, it may be flawed: but it’s a bit better than some of the earlier entries in the Conjuring franchise.

At least … it got me blogging until one in the morning … !

Yep.

I’ve got Mojave installed on my iMac: as I’m sure you’re possible aware, by now.

And have to admit, the overall speed things is nice: I think that’s a result of more apps having been re-written as 64 bit.

But, me being me … ?

I’m caught by the eye-candy.

I’ve managed to change all the highlights to a subtle shade of green.

I’m easily impressed.

Just as a quick thought … ?

Do you use Facebook?

I do: as do many people I know.

It’s helpful, sometimes: especially the messaging app.

However?

It seems there’s been a security breach.

I’m not sure I completely understand the technical side.

But I was one of those who had to log back in, yesterday.

As soon as I’ve time?

I’ll need to change my password …

Ye, gods, I’m tired … 

I THINK … ?

That that’s down to the guts, again.

I get occasional bouts of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Usually, stress related, but also a lot less manageable, if I don’t eat well: or drink a lot of water.

The reason for the tiredness?   Is that I suffered a stress related bout of it, last night: which made sleeping tricky.

A mix of a late dinner … and nerves from an interview.

Which, looking back?

Seemed to go well.

Although one never knows until one hears.

Which will be by next Friday.

If you can keep your fingers crossed, I’d appreciate it!

Right … 

It’s Thursday.

And for once?

I’ve not got an interview.

I’m … 

Well, to be blunt, I’ planning on heading over to my mothers: so I can use my kid sister’s printer.

It strikes me that the world is increasingly online, today.   Applying for jobs online is the way things are going.

But having a few paper copies of my CV around?

Could be useful.

Unfortunately, though?

I don’t think yesterday’s interview went especially well.

Oh, I think the interview part went well.

I don’t think I got the job, though: the interviewer told me he’d be contacting successful candidates by 2  O’clock, yesterday afternoon.

Which he didn’t.

I’ve got mixed feelings, there.

It was a full time gig, in London.   Which has it’s appeal.

But on the other hand?   It ALSO had some very early starts!

And would have cost a fortune in transport costs!
