Doctor Who — Series 15/Season 2 - Episode 8 — “The Reality War” — A Review

30th May, 2025: “The Reality War.

I have to confess, it’s Friday.

And … ?

I’m doing what I usually do.

Starting my review of an episode of Dr Who, early.

I am very much aware that — unlike earlier episodes — “The Reality War” is not going to released at 8am on the day of release.

No: it’s going to be released simultaneously with the 18:50 broadcast on BBC1.

So … ?

I’m going to be having dinner, early, tomorrow!

As an extra thought … ?

As I write this, we still don’t know if Disney will be continuing its involvement with the show.

They’ll still airing The War Between the Land and the Sea: but beyond that?

I don’t know.

We’ll have to see what happens!

~≈💊≈~

On a personal level?

I caught The Rubber-keyed Wonder, a documentary about the ZX Spectrum, a couple of weeks ago.

And, as a result?

Had some Atic Atac themed t-shirts printed.

And got hold of Switched-on Bach, the first Wendy Carlos LP.

That’s a fascinating LP to listen to: as it was one of the first albums using a synthesiser.

And it’s something I’ll have on, finishing this post.

~≈💊≈~

At any rate … ?

I’ll be watching “The Reality War”, tomorrow night.

And have this review finished on Monday, 2nd June.

I’ll see you then.

Doctor Who — Series 15/Season 2 - Episode 7 — “Wish World” — A Review

23rd May, 2025: “Wish World”.

Right at the moment?

I’m in a position to afford a take out.

I don’t fancy cooking: and … ?

I’m feeling mildly celebratory.

As the electro-cardiogram the nurse did, has come up clear.

I’ve just got off the phone to the GP, about it.

So … I’m both reassured, and happy …

And thinking a takeaway would be nice.

That aside … ?

It’s Friday.

So?

I’m setting up my review of “Wish World”, now: and will be finishing it, tomorrow.

Going by the little that’s been released?

“Wish World” looks interesting.

We’ll have to see, won’t we?

Doctor Who — Series 15/Season 2 - Episode 6 — “The Interstellar Song Contest” — A Review

16th May, 2025: “The Interstellar Song Contest”.

It’s officially Friday … and the day before this week’s episode of Dr Who airs.

And also means I’ve had a visit from my nephew, Jude.

If you’d like to watch his latest video?

You’d be more than welcome to.

~≈💊≈~

At any rate … it’s still Friday!

Which means … ?

I’m looking forward to “The Interstellar Song Contest”, the next episode of Dr Who.

Granted I’m going to be watching through the BBC’s iPlayer service?

I’m aware that it’s scheduled broadcast time puts it after the football, and before Eurovision.

Thankfully, the episode wasn’t cancelled because the football went into extra time.

I used to hate that, as a child.

Doctor Who — Series 15/Season 2 - Episode 5 — “The Story & the Engine” — A Review

9th May, 2025: “The Story & the Engine”.

Right then … it’s Friday and I’m starting a review, early!

And a copy of classic Dr Who story, The Claws of Axos playing the background.

Just to get myself into the mood to watch the next episode of the new series, tomorrow.

By the time you read this, or watch the video version … ?

It’ll hopefully be Sunday, 11th May,

I’ll see you then … !

Doctor Who — Series 15/Season 2 - Episode 4 — “Lucky Day” — A Review

*Spoilers*

2nd May, 2025: “Lucky Day”.

It’s officially official: it’s late on a Friday night, it’s starting to get summery …

And … ?

I’ve got videos being exported as we speak … and a copy of Propaganda’s A Secret Wish on in the background.

They, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, and the initial lineup of the Art of Noise were the earliest acts on the ZTT label.

And … ?

I think Propaganda got the short end of the stick, success wise.

But at least the albums are still available: even if the bands, and the label they were on, are long gone.

~≈𝄞≈~

At any rate?

It’s late on a Friday night … and … ?

I’m getting my review of “Lucky Day” started, today.

Although, by the time you read this … ?

Or watch the video equivalent?

It should be 4th May, at the latest.

Doctor Who — Series 15/Season 2 - Episode 3 — “The Well” — A Review

*Spoilers*

26th April, 2025: “The Well”.

Right then …

It’s officially Saturday.

You’ve possibly realised that.

Especially if you’re reading this on a Saturday … !

At any rate?

It’s Saturday: and, at some point today, I’m going to be watching “The Well”: the third episode of this new series of Doctor Who.

I’m looking forward to it: and very aware it’s been described as ‘Very scary’.

Although that’s by Sharma Angel-Walfall: the episode’s co-writer.

Frankly?

We’ll have to see, won’t we.

I’ll have this post … later … !

Doctor Who — Series 15/Season 2 - Episode 2 — “Lux” — A Review

18th April, 2025: “Lux”.

Right then … it’s officially Friday.

Or, at least, I’ve started this post about a Doctor Who episode called “Lux” on a Friday, 18th April, 2028.

In the desperate hope that I can get it finished by Saturday 19th April: the day of broadcast.

I’d like to get some feedback on the day … !

At any rate: I’ve yet to see the episode at the time of writing this introduction, and am planning to catch the iPlayer version, rather than the broadcast version.

I’m looking forward to it.

Alan Cumming is playing the villain of the piece: and he’s usually interesting.

So long as his singing’s not too fruity … !

At any rate, by the time you read this … ?

It’ll be Saturday …

Doctor Who — Series 15/Season 2 - Episode 1 — “The Robot Revolution” — A Review

*Spoilers*

11th April, 2025: “The Robot Revolution”.

Anybody reading this post possibly knows I’m here.

Possibly.

It’s another random post on another random blog: whose owner and writer is mildly frustrated at the amount of time his copy of Safari takes to load up his content.

That’s possibly beside the point.

Regular readers will know two things.

One?

I’m bad tempered.

Two?

I’m a Dr Who fan.

One who — at the time of writing — has been reviewing classic Dr Who series, The Savages, for the past few weeks.

I hope you enjoy my reviews.

I’m going to start reviewing the new series of Doctor Who, tomorrow: when the first episode, “The Robot Revolution”, airs.

I’ve started this post early … ?

As I’ll be baby-sitting — if “baby” is the right term for a fourteen year old! — my nephew, tomorrow day-time.

So … ?   We — or possibly just he — will be making a video and uploading it to his YouTube channel.

Feel free to subscribe: to both his and mine.

By the time that’s done, and he’s headed home?

I’ll sitting in with “The Robot Revolution”

And should be able to let you know what I thought by Sunday, 13th April.

Come back the: and let’s talk about it …

Doctor Who — Joy to the World — A Review

25th December, 2024: Joy to the World.

The Introduction.

You know … I had my  doubts about posting an introduction video to this post.

But?

It’s getting to be something of a tradition that I take my time to write a review of something …

So … ?

Having a video floating around, telling you something is on the way, seems sensible.

I’ve spent today with my family: celebrating Christmas, having the usual row about trivia, and helping my nephew, Jude, set up his shiny new phone.

There was a lot of swearing … especially when we all realised the damn thing had a charging cable, but no charger!

I got him a laptop for his birthday: tomorrow.

I hope there’s a charger in that!

Charger or no, marking Christmas, and a birthday means it’s going to be a while before this review gets finished!
