Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 3rd November, 2021

3rd November, 2021.

Right … I’ve got a blood test, today: at Brentwood’s Community Hospital.

Basically … ?   Checking on my sugar levels, and my thyroxine levels, and various other bits and bobs.

Hopefully?

The medication’s working!

Nik Nak’s Daily Teaser — 3rd November, 2017

Right then …

I’m officially back at work.

At least, I am, tonight: and over the weekend.

I’m — sort of — looking forward to it: as the way the hours have been arranged, it means I have the evenings off.

Not that I’ll be doing much more than either watching TV, or sleeping: but there you go.

Either way, I may just have enough time to catch an epode or two of Freak Show.

I just hope they don’t over do the singing … !

The Daily Teaser — 3-11-2014

Right …

It’s Monday.

But you’d possibly worked that one out, hadn’t you … ?

At any rate, it’s Monday: which means a couple of thing.

Firstly … ?   I’m off to my weight management programme, tonight.   I’m curious: I hadn’t actually lost much weight, last week.   We’ll have to see how things go, there.

And secondly … ?

Well, I’m back off to the local Job Centre, again: I’m kind of getting used to the idea of heading up there to do an online search.

It’s nice to get out of the house: even if I’m only heading five minutes up the road.

John Barry and the King's Speech

Hmmm …

You know, I’ve got to admit, I’m tired — you’d guessed that, if you’ve read the Teaser, today — but having mixed feelings.

Writing up today’s Teaser, I managed to hear the sad news that film composer, John Barry, died this morning.

Sad, that.

Especially when you consider the amount of films he composed for.

I can’t help me think it’s a sad loss.

But as a counterpoint to that … ?

I couldn’t help but notice that The King’s Speech — last British film to be funded by the UK Film Council — managed to bag quite a few gongs at the Screen Actor’s Guild over in the US, last night.

It’s also heavily tipped for both the Oscars and the BAFTAs.

Now, I know there’s a recession on.

I can’t help but know there’s a recession on.

But the fact that the coalition government has scrapped the body that funded it, when it’s capable of helping Brit-Flicks to do so well … ?

Well …

What can one say … ?
