Lovecraft Country — Series 1 Episode 10 — Full Circle: A Review

*Spoilers*

9th November, 2021.

Right …

I have to admit, I’m off to bed.

It feels like I’ve had a longer day than I’ve actually had.

If that makes sense?

At any rate … ?

I think that really BIG portion of spaghetti sauce was … you know … a bit much.

So, an early night, after a heavy dinner, and watching — and doing the notes for — the last episode of Lovecraft Country, seems the thing.

As I write, it’s Tuesday.

I’ll tell you more about the episode, tomorrow.

Lovecraft Country — Series 1 Episode 9 — Rewind 1921: A Review

2nd November, 2021.

Right … You’ll possibly realise that I’ve started this post on Tuesday,

I’m starting to think I should call it TV Tuesday, but who knows!

And yes: I’m going to finish writing this post about the ninth episode — the extremely watchable ninth episode — of Lovecraft Country, tomorrow night.

But yes, and as mentioned in that intro: I’ve recently seen Dune and Candyman and can recommend both.

The Halloween Apocalypse, the first episode of Dr Who, series 13, is just as good!

Before I hit the sack?

Feel free to enjoy the video versions of the reviews!

Lovecraft Country — Series 1 Episode 8 — Jig-a-Bobo: A Review

26th October, 2021.

That’s a rather good intro video, don’t you think … ?

It tells you exactly what I’m going to be doing, tomorrow night.

Yep: telling you about the episode of Lovecraft Country I’ve just watched.

Which I think is rather good …

~≈🐙≈~

I will mention, now, though … ?

That I posted the usual Daily Teaser, this morning: the brain teaser quizzes I run each morning.

I mentioned in this morning’s Teaser, that I was going to install macOS Monterey, at some point in the not too distant future.

Just not today.

I — theoretically — had a busy day.

That day went more rapidly than I expected: so I’ve gone right on ahead and installed the upgraded OS.

Which, bar a minor problem with iMovie, went well enough.

There even seem to be a couple of improvements to QuickTime I can make use of.

And Apple have reverted a change it made to Safari’s tabs.

Thankfully!

The ones Apple had switched too were … unusable, as far as I could see.

At any rate?   I’ll discuss that in tomorrow’s Teaser.

Lovecraft Country — Series 1 Episode 7 — I Am: A Review

19th October, 2021.

Right at the moment … ?

I’ve got a baked potato in the oven: ever so slowly crisping up.

And I’ve some of my famous — or possibly notorious — beef stew ready to be popped in the microwave.

I’ll be having dinner at some point in the next half an hour.

Then … ?

I’ll be watching episode 7 of Lovecraft Country: something I’ve been following these past few weeks.

I’ll be taking a set of — ha! — extensive notes, and drafting a post.

One I’ll put up tomorrow night: after I’ve had some sleep.

OK: ten years ago, I’d’ve finished the post on the evening I’d watched the episode.

But?

Getting some sleep in between now and tomorrow gets more appealing, the older I get!

Lovecraft Country — Series 1 Episode 6 — Meet Me in Daegu: A Review

12th October, 2021.

I have to admit: I recorded that introduction video, and uploaded it to YouTube, before I had dinner.

And frankly?

I’m hoping it’s pick me up a few readers, and a few viewers!

You included, I hope.

I’ve also just finished my notes: and will turn those into a completed post, on Wednesday.

Have a good night … !

Lovecraft Country — Series 1 Episode 5 — Strange Case: A Review

5th October, 2021.

Right … at the moment … I’ve just seen episode five of Lovecraft Country: and will be telling you more tomorrow night.

In writing this intro … ?

I’m doing my usual thing.

Partly … ?

Staking to the territory: and reminding myself I’ve written some notes on the episode.

But also to reming myself I’ve a long day, ahead, tomorrow!

I’ve a phone interview, after all!

Lovecraft Country — Series 1 Episode 4 — A History of Violence: A Review

28th September, 2021.

I think, right now?

That I can say two things.

I’ve had word, earlier today: that the interview that had been booked up for Friday has been cancelled.

Which is bloody annoying!

On the upside … ?

I’ve just seen episode four of Lovecraft Country, will be telling you more about it, tomorrow …

But, boy!

I’ve seen a fantastic piece of work!

Lovecraft Country — Series 1 Episode 3 — Holy Ghost: A Review

21st September, 2021.

Right …

It’s Tuesday, again.

And, frankly?

Yes: I’m still stuck indoors.

You HAVE to love coronavirus testing, don’t you?

However, being stuck indoors does not mean I can’t do things.

Even if it’s something simple, like … um … watching a film.

Watch I did, a couple of days ago.

I’d suggest watching Candyman, by the way: it’s rather good.

Tonight?

I’ve had a plateful of goulash: and seen episode three of Lovecraft Country.

And will tell you more, once I’ve had a good nights sleep.

Lovecraft Country — Series 1 Episode 2 — Whitey’s on the Moon: A Review

14th September, 2021.

Right … It’s officially ten o’clock in the evening of 14th September, 2021.

And, any minute now?

I’m going to hit the sack.

I have to be up, early, tomorrow: for for my next swab test by the ONS.

And because I’m selling a neighbour’s laptop for them.

I’m expecting the buyer at some point …

Either way?

I’ll be back at this post, tomorrow: to tell you about the next episode of Lovecraft Country …

Lovecraft Country — Series 1 Episode 1 — Sundown: A Review

7th September, 2021.

 Right …

It’s getting late at night: so we can safely say that it’s no longer sunny.

It’s dark out, in point of fact.

Which I can live with, especially after a long day.

At any rate?   Having done a few bits indoors, done the usual jobhunting, and done various bits for Nik Nak’s Old Peculiar?

I have to admit that I was at a loose end: and fancied watching something.

With no idea if that something was going to be a film or TV show.

Oh, I’ve access to plenty of films.

But I’d see a few, recently, and fancied a change of pace.

Given today saw the death of Michael K. Williams, and that he had a part in the series I’ve had in the collection for a while?

I felt making a start on Lovecraft Country seemed the thing.

Chernobyl — Episode 5: Vichnaya Pamyat — A Review

17th September, 2019.

It has to be said, I’m back at work, tomorrow night.

Which is …

Well …

About par for the course, when you think about it.

At any rate?

I’ve popped in an old friend: who’s expecting an AppleTV, at some point.

I’ve cleaned the house, written more Teasers: Anne, the Badwolf herself, will like one, I’m certain.

Oh …

And I’ve railed against man’s inhumanity to man.

Well … watched some Blake’s Seven, anyway.

It’s been quiet, in other words.

Quiet enough that I’ve actually wanted to finish off a series.

A miniseries, if you must know.

Yes: I’ve seen the last episode of Chernobyl…

Chernobyl — Series 1 Episode 4: The Happiness of All Mankind — A Review

16th September, 2019.

It’s a Monday night.

And, frankly?

It’s a Monday night where I’m listening to the only Cabaret Voltaire album I own.

One of these days?

I might just have to … you know …

Buy some more.

Once I can get a few suggestions from Quora, obviously.

Chernobyl — Series 1 Episode 3: Open Wide, O Earth — A Review

14th September, 2019.

Yes: it’s true: I’ve seen a bit of news: and it’s got me thinking about one of my favourite novels.

Frank Herbert’s Dune.

The novel covers all sorts of territory.

But is, in part, the story of a group of religious fanatics — the Fremen — fighting for their freedom by destroying the substance that powers the Dune universe’s transport system.

The reason I got thinking about that … ?

Was that I saw news, today, that a couple of major oil plants in Saudi Arabia have been destroyed by Houthi rebels from the Yemen.

Fighting their Saudi oppressors by destroying the one thing that keeps the transport system going.

Not that I think there’s any similarities.

I just get annoyed when some one tells me “Science fiction has nothing to do with the real world …”

Ho …

Hum …

~≈√≈~

At any rate … ?   It’s a Saturday night: one where I’ve just bought a Cabaret Voltaire album: as Spotify seems to be having issues playing the damn thing.

It’s also the night where I’ve seen another episode of miniseries, Chernobyl.

Oh yes …

Chernobyl — Series 1 Episode 2: Please Remain Calm — A Review

13th September, 2019.

Yes: it’s god’s own truth.

Much as I’d love to go out, I really don’t have the cash.

Not that I’m that worried, either way.

I’m happy to stay in.

Going up Warley Hill — in either direction — really doesn’t appeal!

At least, after going into town — once — to go shopping, and then a second time for a meeting.

A third time doesn’t appeal … !

Either way … ?

Either way, something’s been appealing to me, box set wise …

Chernobyl — Series 1 Episode 1: 1:23:45 — A Review

9th September, 2019.

OK …

I have to confess, I was complaining, this morning.

That there was nothing good on TV.

Well …

There’s possibly plenty.

But nothing that had been grabbing me.

Given I’d had a quiet day?

Doing nothing more than light shopping, cleaning, laundry — oh boy, laundry — and filming for the blog.

Oh …

And sorting out an issue with the benefit office: they want me to go into for a meeting.

Except, of course, the central office has told me it’s at the benefit office around the corner from me …

Which, I was informed last week, was shut last Friday.

Apparently?

The new office is in the town hall …

Where do I go … ?

I think I’ll have to make phone calls …

~≈¥≈~

That, of course … ?

Is sort of beside the point.

I wanted TV …

I wanted TV, tonight …

And think I found an interesting little historical thriller.

Chernobyl …
